Sarenza Sunday- Desigual

This week Sarenza appears to have had a whole host of new arrivals including a massive and fabulous drop from Desigual, a brand Ellie introduced me to last year whilst in Spain and who now remind me of that fantastic holiday and get me excited for the very soon up-coming one.
With their quirky prints and fun colours it’s no wonder I love the brand and already own some of their shoes (the flats are the comfiest ever, just so you know!)
This week I have my sights set on the Damia Wedge, £84 with it’s fantastic florals and a colour scheme that’ll carry you through to Autumn.
I’m really looking forward to visiting the Desigual store in Malaga again and coming home with a massive wishlist (and potentially a few purchases). I probably ought to make the most of being an Ambassador for Sarenza too and snap up these beauties.
Do you have a brand you associate with happy times?

Celebrating with Percy Pig

It’s a big year for Marks and Spencer favourite Percy Pig as he turns 21.
To help aid the celebrations Marks and Spencer have released three new varieties of everyone’s favourite gummy animal; Percy in a Twist, Percy and Penny and Percy’s Pig Pen.
Percy Pigs (any and all variety) are my favourite sweets ever, so I was delighted to be offered samples in the post; who could resist?
(Vegetarians will be pleased to know they can enjoy Percy in a Twist as they are gelatine free, hurrah!)
True to form the sweets are damn good. My favourites were the Percy and Penny ones but the others were also tasty- I was amused that they are labelled as being “Percy Flavoured”.
It’s not just sweets you can buy either, check out your local Marks and Spencer for all manner of goods including biscuits, ice creams, yoghurts and kitchen roll…
Happy Birthday Percy!
Are you a fan?

Monki Business

Dress: Monki at ASOS
Flipflops: Havianas via Sarenza
After featuring this dress when I posted my ASOS voucher giveaway I immediately used the voucher I was gifted to make a purchase. So far out of my comfort zone it may as well live on another planet I knew I’d find a way to make body-con work for me.
And it did. I’m still not 100% sold on it but I survived a day in Bristol wearing it, and a heatwave induced afternoon and I didn’t feel like the whole world was stopping to point and laugh. Move over skater dresses, if Monki continue like this there may well be a new obsession, especially as my weight increases and I get more curves to show off. Shopping…just one of the may reasons why recovery rocks.
Happy Friday folks,
what a week it’s been; epic thunderstorms (that I pretty much slept through), hot and sticky weather and the arrival of the Royal Baby just about skims the surface. Add in every day life stuff like work and a trip to the dentist and you can see why I am (along with the rest of the world) ready to welcome the weekend.
What have you got planned? I’ll be with the boy again, what we do entirely depends on how lazy we feel, hopefully we’ll get organised and head on down to Bristol’s Harbour Festival which looks set to be pretty good.
Have a good one whatever you do!

time to toughen up

From top left:
Blouse (£58) + Leggings (£82.50) by By Zoe

Rebecca Minkoff bag (£294) + Ash sandals (£72)
Pauric Sweeney tote (£412) + Ash boots (£99)
No matter what the weather or what time of year it is there will always be a part of me that is drawn to anything black and studded. I’m not sure when it started. At first I was a denim girl, then the one who always wore a floral dress. These days I mix it up a bit more and yet the one thing I truly like, I barely seem to sport.
It’s probably because I appear to have rather expensive taste, as evidenced above by this little wishlist from Brand Boudoir. It’s not as expensive as it could be given that everything sold on the website is heavily discounted (almost enough reason to justify those divine Ash boots) being an outlet site specialising in past season stock.
I’m not one to be bothered by seasons when it comes to fashion, if I like something I like it regardless of whether it’s past, present or future. I still wear things I bought five, sometimes ten years ago…mixed in with something I may have picked up just the other day.
I think you have more fun that way. And perhaps it’s time I had fun by mixing up my style.
What are your thoughts?
(and what have I tempted you to buy?)

Sunrise, Sunset

Dress c/o Chi Chi
Doesn’t this dress remind you a bit of a sunset? I love this combination of colours, so perfect for a Summer night. I always feel a bit strange doing these kind of posts because I lack the ability/style/photography skill to do something different or more interesting, but I shan’t let it stop me showing off some of my favourite clothing- you just have to look past the mundane setting. Perhaps I ought to start roping the boy in to playing photographer (I feel a plan forming).
I think I’ll bring this dress with me to Spain- I can imagine going for dinner and then walking down the beach in this. Oh I am so excited. One week and six days and I’ll be there. The weather we had here recently has fuelled the excitement. I might enjoy a good moan about how hot and sweaty and drained I am but I still can’t get enough of the sunshine.
This is the third (I think) dress I’ve had and loved from Chi Chi, they really are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to dressing up. Have you purchased from there yet? Take a browse, it’s almost payday!

P.S. thank you to everyone who entered my ASOS giveaway- massive congratulations to Terri Lowe, the gorgeous winner.
