Summer Loving with lolaandgrace

There are a couple of jewellery brands I just can’t get enough of right now and one of those is lolaandgrace. Every time I visit the website I find something to fall in love with, and despite owning several pieces from the brand I still want more! Their Spring/Summer collection is an absolute cracker and I thought I’d share with you just a few of the pieces I’m currently coveting.
As you can probably tell, I’m really liking clean cut bold pieces this Summer; a lovely contrast to the delicate and feminine pastels that are everywhere and stunning with this season’s bold prints. I don’t really have space on my ears for ear cuffs, thanks to my multitude of piercings but I seriously want the Filigree Wide Earcuff and the Stud Long Earcuff as part of the decoration.
My many piercings are also the reason I don’t often wear statement sparklers in my ear lobes, but I feel I could make exception for the Chrysanthemum Drops which I may well have to invest in very soon as they will be the perfect finishing touch to my outfit for a wedding I’m going to in July. Just stunning! A polar opposite to these flower inspired fancies and going back towards what I know best I might have to sneak the Cupchain Bib necklace in to my basket too- it’s on the pricey side but will look amazing against the basic tees and vests I’ve stocked up on for work (and play) lately.
As I said above, these barely even touch the surface of the gorgeous arrivals on the lolaandgrace website, so head on over there and report back on what’s caught your eye the most…and look out for more features of their collections on the blog in the future. J’adore.

An Elephant Never Forgets

Jumpsuits; an item I’ve toyed with for a few seasons now. I love the look of them on other people but I really wasn’t sure I could make them work for me. With long legs and a long body getting the proportions right was tricky, and ones I had tried on looked less than flattering. A recent trip in to New Look saw me drawn to an elephant printed number and despite my reservations I decided to size up and see what effect that had.

Jumpsuit: New Look (here) | Sandals: Zara | Bracelet c/o Vente-Privee

I think the size up works better if I’m honest, my actual size would have been perhaps a bit too tight around the bum and I prefer a slouchy leg. This is so comfy that with a bonus 25% off I think this might just be the greatest bargain ever. I continued the safari theme with my leopard detail Zara sandals which I thought might be a bit too OTT but I actually really like them with the jumpsuit.
You can’t really tell from my photos but I’m wearing a gorgeous bracelet sent by the lovely folks at Vente-Privee by Uno de 50 who designed an exclusive “luck” collection for the sales site. This is so my style and has barely been off of my wrist since it arrived!
Have you tried any new trends lately? I’m thinking a playsuit next, but that does depend on finding one that is a fairly decent length so it can actually be worn in public and leave me some dignity.

Chilling with FruitBroo

Back in December I did a little post about FruitBroo and their awesome fruity hot drinks. It was love at first taste and so I was super excited when they got in touch to tell me they’d launched iced teas for the Summer in two amazing sounding flavours.
A few days later samples of the new flavours arrived at my door, and I dug them out especially for that gorgeous weekend we had a couple of weeks ago. These have to be the easiest way of making iced tea ever. All you need to do is add 3-4 tsps of the broo in to a glass, add iced water and ice then stir and enjoy. Containing no caffeine, gluten or dairy and containing only 14 calories per serving these are the perfect refresher for a hot sunny day (or to add some sunshine to a not so sunny day!)
My favourite flavour was the Elderflower & Lime as this is one of my favourite flavour combinations when it comes to drinks anyway. This was lovely and light and would be a really good alternative to wine at a BBQ for the non-drinkers. Not that mine will last long enough to make it to a BBQ as it’s diminishing at a rapid rate!
The other flavour is Peach, Pear & Honey which despite being peach, which I dislike was still really very nice. The combination of flavours is beautiful and sweet, it almost reminds me of drinking cocktails on holiday.
Each 200ml bottle costs £3.50 (you get 22 servings from each) and if you order three or more online you get free UK delivery. I’m so glad to have discovered FruitBroo, a local company as well, which is just an added bonus! I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
Have you tried these? What other flavour combinations would you like to see?

Smiley

This outfit is very typical of what my style was like ten years ago at the age of seventeen. Although it’s not quite so typical of what I wear these days it was really fun to pull on something so laid back and chill out in the garden on one of the hottest days of the year so far…I’ve never been one for shorts and bare legs but this year I’m feeling braver and determined to look a little bit less ghostly pale!

Tee: c/o Smiley | Shorts: George at Asda | Sandals: Zara

I think Smiley is the cutest, happiest company I have come across! They recently sent me a parcel full of goodies and this tee was one of them. I was instantly transported back to summer as a teenager, and how can you be sad when you are sporting a giant happy face? It’s not just clothes they sell, either. This adorable mug was also hiding in the package and makes me grin every time I make a cup of tea. I have my eye on some of the vests next as something to motivate me on my new found fitness kick! I’ll also be buying many gifts for family and friends now I know more about what they do.
I bought these shorts for my trip to Spain last year and then barely wore them because they were just too big. Now they fit perfectly I hope to swallow my fear of having bare legs in public and get some wear from them as they are my idea of the perfect denim short. I can’t be doing with those ones that provide as much coverage as a pair of knickers!
I picked up the sandals in town the other week when I popped in to Zara. Shoes were the last thing on my mind, but when I clapped eyes on these and tried them on it was love at first sight/wear. They were only £19.99 and fit my flipper feet perfectly. I find sandals so hard to buy for as my feet are so wide so it would have been rude to leave these behind considering I don’t own a single black pair! I love the double strap detail and the splash of animal print, I will most likely be living in these!
What was your teenage style like? What makes you smile?

Summer Heatwave from Guess Watches

It’s been a while (and by a while I mean over a month) since I last featured Guess on the blog and I knew that in the absence of e-mails and new collections they must be working on something good. I wasn’t wrong; last week their new watch collection, Summer Heatwave hit my inbox and as is always the case with their collections I couldn’t resist sharing.
Perfect with a tan and equally as good for brightening up a less than sunny day (this is Britain after all!) the collection features warm gold faces with colour-pop silicone straps. Available in Hot Pink, Sea Green and Dazzling White these are just gorgeous. After purchasing my Mulberry bag I’m not in a position to buy anything right now, but if I was then the hot pink would be winging it’s way to my wrist as I type.
The RRP of these watches is £159.00 and you can buy online at Goldsmiths. Which one do you fancy?
