The Perfect Day for a wedding

I love a good wedding, and there is nothing more special than seeing one of your childhood friends walk down the wedding. On Saturday I attended the wedding of one of my oldest friends, and the second of my school friends to tie the knot (which at 27 makes me realise we are actually proper grown-ups now). It couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day for a wedding- hot and sunny, set in the most beautiful grounds of Priston Mill. The day was simply magical, filled with quirky touches that just screamed “Hazel and James”- who else could get away with a wedding that featured a canoe, a barn dance and a stunning cake made and decorated by the groom himself?
Hazel, I’ve known you since reception year at school and although we haven’t always seen eye to eye (not least because you just about reach my shoulder!) I now consider you one of my closest friends. We’ve grown closer as we’ve got older and matured (sort of) and I was honoured to be a guest at your wedding. You looked simply stunning as you walked down the aisle, we saw your girly side, (the one we all knew was lurking there somewhere) wearing your gorgeous dress, face glowing with happiness and love. I’m forever amazed at your constant energy, crazy barn dancing skills and the fact you managed to hold your drink for once! Congratulations my dear, I couldn’t be happier for you.
James, I may have only met you a handful of times but I don’t need to have spent hours with you to know you are the perfect match for Hazel. The way you look at her tells me just how much you care for her, that and how spotless the house is and how well catered for she is! You are one of the nicest guys I’ve met and I wish you guys the longest and happiest marriage there can possibly be.
Thank you for sharing your day with us all, it was magical. Thank you also for feeding us well, plying us with drink and for the genius idea of jars of sweeties on the table- so far Ben’s kept his paws off mine, but I’m not sure it’s going to last!

Beach Bum (minus the beach)

Imagine right now that I’m not stood in my back garden for this post, instead I am on holiday and on a beach posing for these outfit photos. These photos are kind of a big deal for me as I never in a million years saw myself exposing this much skin on the blog, but clearly a few months of being healthy and sensible has worked some kind of magic on my brain as I’m feeling a lot more comfortable with myself lately, albeit a little nervous about hitting the publish button.

Flip-Flops c/o Ipanema | Bikini: ASOS | Shorts: George at Asda

I never thought I’d find flip-flops that could compare to my beloved Havianas but this gorgeous pair from Ipanema have gone and proven me wrong. I’m trying my hardest not to live in these all Summer as Mum and I are determined to book ourselves some late summer sun and I want to keep them new until then. It’s going to be hard though as they are just like walking on clouds and super pretty to boot.
The bikini was an impulse buy from the ASOS sale, swayed by the cats printed all over it. Again this is something I want to save and take away with me, but I also want to wear it all the time because CATS! I am a total crazy cat lady and I don’t care. This outfit is perfect garden attire when the sun shines. I think these shorts cost me something like £12 from Asda last year and are the best denim shorts I’ve found. Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to clothing and it makes food shopping a bit of a treat.
What flip-flop brand are you loyal to? My affections are now split, and thanks to their range of gorgeous designs I think Ipanema might be taking the top spot!
I am totally loving life right now, it’s taken a path I didn’t anticipate happening for some time yet and I finally feel that although there are things to work on (for I know it’s not a “perfect” recovery) I have shaken off the shackles of anorexia and I am actually living how Laura wants to live. Sorry, I try not to bang on about it on the blog but sometimes it just happens, you guys have been such a huge part of the journey and I can never ever fully express how thankful I am and how lucky I feel to have had the support of the blogging community.

Shoe Lust- Kat Maconie at Brand Outlet

One of my favourite shoe designers has to be Kat Maconie. There isn’t one of her styles that I wouldn’t wear and I have a wish list a mile long. Sadly she is one of many designers that is out of my regular price range, so I was pretty excited when Brand Outlet announced a sale on her shoes.
Making designer pieces a bit more attainable Brand Outlet has fast become one of my favourite places to have a browse. My picks from the Kat Maconie sale are below: with prices up to 55% off it’d be rude not to at least look!
From top left:
Which pair is your favourite? I’m in love with the bold, graphic look of all of them but if I had to pick just one it’d be the Marie Neon Sandal as I love the contrast of the pale grey with the neon yellow. Sadly still out of my current budget as I’m saving hard to move out but I hope that at least one of you grabs a bargain!
