Getting Spiritual with lolaandgrace

I’ve always had an affinity with spiritual symbols, perhaps because my nickname was Buddha at school (my surname + being the somewhat rounded child that I was) or perhaps because I spent a great deal of my growing up years learning the art of Judo. Either way there doesn’t have to be a reason, I just love the meaningful images and inner peace they tend to evoke so I was super excited to hear that one of my favourite jewellery brands ever, lolaandgrace were launching a bright and beautiful collection featuring some of the most well known and most loved symbols.
The spiritual collection is due to launch around Mid-April and each piece will be priced at £19.90. I think all of the bracelets and necklaces will be perfect for festival season and long, lazy Summer days (should it ever arrive).

Which is your favourite symbol? It has to be the adorable little laughing buddha for me!

Summer Loving with lolaandgrace

There are a couple of jewellery brands I just can’t get enough of right now and one of those is lolaandgrace. Every time I visit the website I find something to fall in love with, and despite owning several pieces from the brand I still want more! Their Spring/Summer collection is an absolute cracker and I thought I’d share with you just a few of the pieces I’m currently coveting.
As you can probably tell, I’m really liking clean cut bold pieces this Summer; a lovely contrast to the delicate and feminine pastels that are everywhere and stunning with this season’s bold prints. I don’t really have space on my ears for ear cuffs, thanks to my multitude of piercings but I seriously want the Filigree Wide Earcuff and the Stud Long Earcuff as part of the decoration.
My many piercings are also the reason I don’t often wear statement sparklers in my ear lobes, but I feel I could make exception for the Chrysanthemum Drops which I may well have to invest in very soon as they will be the perfect finishing touch to my outfit for a wedding I’m going to in July. Just stunning! A polar opposite to these flower inspired fancies and going back towards what I know best I might have to sneak the Cupchain Bib necklace in to my basket too- it’s on the pricey side but will look amazing against the basic tees and vests I’ve stocked up on for work (and play) lately.
As I said above, these barely even touch the surface of the gorgeous arrivals on the lolaandgrace website, so head on over there and report back on what’s caught your eye the most…and look out for more features of their collections on the blog in the future. J’adore.

New In- Jewellery from WatchShop.com

You’d be excused for thinking that a website named WatchShop.com would sell only watches. I myself was guilty of this until the other week when I parcel arrived for me which went on to prove me completely wrong. It turns out you can also buy jewellery from WatchShop.com and they stock many of my favourite brands including Guess, Ted Baker and Thomas Sabo to name but a few. I was incredibly lucky to receive a selection of new arrivals and wanted to show them off ASAP!

The first item I unpackaged was this pretty little necklace from Anne Klein. This isn’t a name familiar to me but I love how delicate this necklace is, I really love simple pieces with just a touch of sparkle and this fits the bill perfectly.
Next out of it’s pouch was this little beauty from lolaandgrace who long time readers of the blog will know I’m already very familiar with. This is one of their more delicate pieces and I love the opal-esque pink stone and pink crystal detail. Again this is a super subtle and elegant piece that fits my current jewellery style perfectly. Keep an eye out for their new collection, there are some serious stunners about to be released!
Last but not least comes this stunning Lola Rose bangle (jewellery range not yet on the website). I’m not the greatest wearer of bracelets and bangles purely because I tend to forget but this one is just so pretty and fits my dinky wrists perfectly- with the bonus of being adjustable. I’ve been pairing this with 1/2 and 3/4 sleeve tops when I want to add a girly touch and I have a sudden desire to stack bangles up both arms as high as they will go!
What are some of your jewellery brand favourites? Which of these pieces has caught your eye the most?

The Little Green Dress

Every season I seem to have a colour or palette I favour more than any other and this time round it would appear to be the turn of the earthy tones- rusty reds, navy blue, mustard yellow and deep green…give me any of those and I’m a happy bunny. With that in mind it was inevitable that I’d once again break my resolve not to buy new clothes when I stumbled across the dress in this post on a Christmas shopping trip the other week.

Dress: Zara (can’t find online but it was £19.99) | Boots c/o Just Fab | Necklace c/o lolaandgrace

Zara is one of those shops I go through phases with and actually I avoided it for a long time after breaking my foot in a store in Holland (yeah, I know). My most recent venture in to the Bristol store was entirely unplanned and led to me trying on about ten different dresses- they are on fire right now! I do find the sizing and fit in Zara quite unpredictable and most of them just didn’t sit right which actually saved me from imminent skint-ness but this bottle green fine cord dress was just…I don’t know, it was just right and I couldn’t bring myself to leave without it.

I did wonder if I’d find the sleeves annoying but actually I don’t and this has fast become one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. I’ve styled it for day time here but it could easily be taken up a notch in to an evening dress too with some heels and a bit more jewellery. I just love this shade of green and how it goes with the colour of my hair, it makes me realise how faded I’d let it get before colouring it though, oops!

These boots from Just Fab haven’t really left my feet since their arrival and I’m going to need to try and wean myself off of them a little bit to make them last longer. They are just so comfortable though and add a smarter touch to all of my outfits- much needed at times! For once I finished off the look with a piece of jewellery too, adding in a statement stud necklace from my pals at lolaandgrace for completeness.

Are there any shops that you go through phases with? Zara and Topshop are my main two, I ignore them for so long and then go in and want to buy everything!

The Denim Shirt Dress

Is there ever a season where denim doesn’t feature somewhere in amongst the hottest trends? Not that I can recall, although I don’t remember there ever being quite so much variety as there is right now. No complaints from me (other than from my bank balance). I love a bit of the blue stuff and it’s perfect for any off duty look. I was recently lured in by the New Look and came away with another piece to add to my collection.

Shirt Dress: New Look (here) | Sandals: Primark (current stock) | Bracelet c/o lolandgrace

These photos haven’t come out as well as usual, most likely due to me actually taking them myself for once. Laura + Tripod and self timer are not the best combination in the world, luckily I usually have Mum or Ben on hand to help out!

This shirt dress was reduced to £12 in the New Look sale and I love it for something easy to sling on after work. It’s a bit on the short side which I often find with New Look’s dresses but with flat shoes and a bit of careful placement on myself it’s not really an issue. I paired it with these wide-fit sandals which I picked up last month in the Cardiff Primark. I love that more places are doing wide-fit shoes these days- no more squishing my flippers in to beautiful shoes that really are too tight. Oh how I long for pretty, dainty feet.

I’m not really sure what else I can say about this outfit, it’s simple but I like it and I shall be wearing this dress well in to the next fashion season whatever the trends dictate!

Fellow denim fans, what’s been your favourite find so far?
