A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Watches*

Watch gifted by Nordgreen.com

Happy Easter Monday everyone! What a strange long weekend it has been, but a welcome break, and such glorious weather! Although it’s been sad not to spend the holiday with family, Bob and I made the best of it and cracked on sorting our garden out (well, he did most of the work), as well as spending some quality time in the sunshine on my beloved deckchair.

That’s not the point of this post though, the point is my new watch…
I do own quite a lot of watches, more than one for every day of the week, but that doesn’t stop me falling in love with new ones; I just can’t resist them. I was the same once with earrings, and then tights, and then shoes…now my collection of all of these things is lacking, but my time-telling wrist-wear stash is still growing, and growing strong.

The most recent addition to my collection comes from a brand called Nordgreen, who kindly gifted me their “Native” style watch in a gorgeous gunmetal colour.
I love the tough vibes this watch gives off, it goes so perfectly with my current dress style. The biggest win for the watch is how easy it is to adjust the strap size; often with this style I have to take it to the local watch repair shop to get it adjusted, but Bob managed make this the perfect fit for my oddly small wrists in seconds.
The other big win is that the straps on Nordgreen watches are interchangeable, meaning you can create a custom piece super easily (and you get a discount when you add one or two additional straps to your order.

You can also choose the watch diameter and strap width- I went for the smallest in each to create a more feminine looking piece. This watch is a unisex piece- and I’d be tempted to create a mid-range size one for Bob and I to share.

The ethics of the Nordgreen brand are admirable. For each watch purchased you can choose from one of three causes to give back to. The brand ethos is quality, sustainability and putting others first and I think they nail it. A danish brand created by lifelong friends- there is an unmistakable Scandi minimalism about their products, yet the attention to detail and craftsmanship is second to none.

What are your little clothes or accessory obsessions? And what have you been up to over the long weekend?

Zadig & Voltaire at WatchShop.Com

My obsession with watches is well documented on this blog – I might only be able to wear one at a time, but I can never resist adding a new time piece to my collection, and this is further fuelled by a great working relationship with a leading watch retailer. I was recently sent a stunning new piece by Zadig & Voltaire, they have long been a brand I have admired so the news they are now stocked at WatchShop.com was both welcome and dangerous.

WatchShop.com also very kindly sent me the Karl Lagerfeld watch of my dreams, which I recently featured in a wish list post so right now I feel like the luckiest, and best accessorised girl around. The ring is everything I hoped it would be, and more…and the watch, well despite owning countless styles at this point, all of which I love, this one has 100% reached it’s way to the top spot and hasn’t left my wrist since it’s arrival. The attention to detail in this watch is incredible and it just looks so classy, and yet a little bit badass too.

I’ve got an outfit post coming later this week showing just one of the ways in which I’ve been wearing these pieces, and also gives a glimpse of what I wear during my 9-5 life.

In the meantime, let me know which watches you are most coveting right now, and which designers just seem to get it right every damn time.

Gift Guides: Pusheen at watchshop.com take 2!

My friends at watchshop.com sure now how to spoil a girl. Hot on the heels of my sophisticated timepiece from Bering came a cute little package featuring the one and only Pusheen!

You may remember last year this little grey kitty appeared on the blog– well, she’s been give a bit of a grown up makeover whilst still remaining oh-so-cute and ever so affordable at just £19.99…making this the perfect Christmas gift idea for any cat lover.

Too damn cute right? You can find this watch plus a couple more styles, and an utterly adorable alarm clock over on watchshop.com – this particular design is exclusive to them and so very me. I’ve got to a point where I pretty much own enough watches to wear a different one every day of the month (addicted, me?) but I have to admit that between this little beauty and my somewhat more grown up Bering style the others aren’t getting much attention lately.

Bering at watchshop.com

I’ve been back from my trip to Scotland for just over a week now, and whilst it’s nice to be back in the world of wifi, phone signal and being within walking distance of a local shop I am seriously missing the isolation, quietness and natural beauty of the North West highlands.

We spent most of our trip in a static caravan on a site in Gairloch but made a trip over to the town of Ullapool where Bob lived and worked in a hotel for some time a few years ago. We booked a room in the hotel, caught up with some of his friends and family and found it to be the perfect environment to photograph my new watch by Bering at watchshop.com*.

The Bering Ladies’ Classic watch is hands down the classiest watch I own. The strap is a gorgeous khaki green and the dial is rose gold simplicity- perfect for wearing day and night. Since I’ve been home I’ve been wearing it daily for work, but whilst I was away I used it as a glam accessory for our night out in the hotel.

I wish I’d taken more photos at The Ceilidh Place as it’s hands down the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in to date. There are no televisions to be found, instead the rooms have a selection of books (and there’s a book shop attached to the hotel too) and a digital radio should you need more than the silence and enjoyment of a classic novel.
The rooms are cosy, clean and the bathroom was gorgeous. We ate at the hotel restaurant and I can happily confirm the food is delicious- I highly recommend the dressed crab. We stayed on for drinks too (a great array of gin!) and of course breakfast the next day…the perfect remedy for a sore head from the night before.
There’s a lovely vibe about the place and should you find yourself in Ullapool then I do recommend a stay here, or even just booking a table for dinner in the evening. I’ll do a photo re-cap post of my Scotland trip soon, life’s been absolute chaos since I’ve been back and I’m working pretty much full time again for the first time in ages but blog posts are brewing.

In the mean time, sit back, enjoy the pictures and let me know how you’d style this watch.

Christina Jewellery at watchshop.com

Despite their name it’s not only watches available to buy at watchshop.com, nope- not only do they sell a huge range of watches from well loved brands they also sell a really decent selection of jewellery including popular designers such as Thomas Sabo and Links of London right through to new (to me) brands such as Christina Jewellery

Bracelet c/o watchshop.com

It goes without saying that I absolutely love this “Marguerite” charm bracelet with it’s delicate daisy design. It’s a really pretty, dainty piece that can easily be built upon with a wide selection of charms available. The clasp on this has a magnetic action making it really easy to open and close (something I struggle with when I wear my Pandora bracelet) and it comes in a wide range of sizes so there is bound to be something to fit every wrist. I believe mine is the 18cm model which is actually a little big and the range covers from 17cm up to 21cm.

The additional charms are both super pretty and intricate as well as really affordable. I wouldn’t usually consider mixing metals but I do like this silver and gold combination and when I get a chance to add to my bracelet I’d happily pick and mix between the two.

This is the first time I’ve come across Christina Jewellery and I’m really impressed, it’s definitely a brand I’ll be keeping an eye on and one I’d 100% recommend.
