Sarenza Sunday- Veja x Lily Cole

Lily Cole has been one of my favourite models ever since she first launched on the fashion scene. I’ve always admired her dedication to Charities as well as to the fashion industry so when I caught wind of her latest collaboration with shoe brand Veja I was straight in there to take a peek. Sarenza have the UK exclusivity of the collection which supports Sky Forest Rescue, itself a collaboration between Sky and the WWF to protect trees in Brazil. For each limited edition pair sold Sky and WWF will donate £10 to help protect and save the Amazon rainforest.
I’ve been wearing sneakers a lot more lately, when I’m not in work as they are just so comfortable. These designs are the perfect partner for a laid back denim ensemble, especially the orange hi-tops.
You’ll find the collection here and below I’ve included a video in which Lily Cole talks to us about her input.

My Sarenza Sale Picks

The only thing that beats shopping for shoes on Sarenza for me is shopping for shoes when they have a sale on. The Summer sale has just launched and trust me, it’s one not to be missed! Some styles I’ve been coveting since they launched just a few months ago now have a hefty discount and I am on the verge of blocking my paypal account and hiding my wallet so I don’t spend what little money I have entirely on shoes (but one or two pairs surely won’t hurt?!).
Right now, at the top of my vast wish list are the four pairs above. I’ve decided I can treat myself to just one of these pairs and now I have the hard task of narrowing it down! First up is the Polenta Feast style by Clarks which I have seen many a blogger fall in love with. I’ve come to accept I’m no good in heels at work and these are a chic alternative to my usual boots or brogues. Sticking with last week’s slip-on trend love I’m also toying with the idea of the Gayla by Eden shoe, which ticks off two trends in one with their holographic finish. I can see me living in these outside of work so they would be worth their still on the high side price tag. Also by Eden (such an under-rated brand) are these sandals that are a milder take on the ugly/pretty shoes around right now (which I do sort of love). I’m no good in white, I just can’t be trusted, but the idea of white sandals is really appealing right now even if I have no tan to show off. Last but not least are these pretty pastel wedges by Refresh which would go so well with my midi skirts and several of my dresses. I used to leave in wedges and it’s a shame I got rid of most of mine when I broke my foot… I need to rectify this error in my judgement and replace them and these could be the way forward.
Which pair would you pick, and what are you after from the Sarenza sale?

Sarenza Sunday: Ecentric

Ok, so when it comes to footwear this season it would appear I’m a sucker for the trends. Generally I can take them or leave them when it comes to clothing- it’s easier to accept that not everything is going to suit you but when it comes to shoes it’s hard to find a style that you can’t pair with something and look fly as hell. After last week’s post on ugly shoes, this week I’m bringing you the slip-on sensation…seen on bloggers everywhere, and hopefully soon, me! Once again Sarenza have come up trumps with a huge selection.
Probably my favourite pair from the selection on Sarenza is the Ecentric by Steve Madden, £84.99. I’ve been a fan of Steve Madden shoes for a long time, and own a couple of pairs including some stunning glittery brogues. I love how clean these look and the leopard print adds an extra dimension. These would be just perfect with a pair of boyfriend jeans with turned up hems, or a denim pinafore dress…and then there is the fun of clashing patterns or pairing them with a super-girly dress. Never have casual shoes been so appealing!
What do you think of the slip-on trend? I’m loving the laid back vibe, especially for lazy weekends!

The Long and Short of It

I finally got my hands on some dungarees! They are probably one of those items that people either love or hate, but for me it’s pure love and I have always been drawn to them. I wore this outfit last Sunday for a day of really not doing much at all, which is exactly what Sunday was invented for, right?

Tee: e-bay | Dungarees c/o Long Tall Sally | Sandals c/o Sarenza

It’s a shame it wasn’t a sunnier day as the photos were a bit hurried due to impending rain and a cool breeze, hard to believe it’s June and nearly officially Summer!
I love this Batman vest that I bought on e-bay last year for around three quid. I didn’t expect it to last one wash, but despite multiple wearings it has survived to last another year and it seemed like an excellent pairing with these dungarees, which fit like a dream thanks to the extra leg and body room that Long Tall Sally offer! They are a really lovely quality denim too, thick but soft so they are extra comfortable. I’ll be wearing these in some form or another all year round.
I’ve really been enjoying the trend for holographic shoes so the second I saw these ones on Sarenza last month I popped them in my basket. I always struggle with Summer shoes as they never seem wide enough for my monster feet…boots and trainers are so much easier to squish in to! These are a great fit though and despite being quite a statement will go with so much.
What’s your stance on dungarees?

Sarenza Sunday: Pretty Ugly

This Summer it’s all about the ugly shoes. Clumpy, almost orthopaedic styles reign supreme and I’m really quite liking it. At first I couldn’t be convinced, seeing lifeless pictures of cumbersome sandals just didn’t do it for me…but after seeing these same styles pop up on bloggers everywhere I really started to like this trend and I’ve found myself scouring Sarenza for my perfect pair.
I think the Josy by Eden sandal (£55.50) is about as perfect as it gets when it comes to my ugly shoe taste. I wouldn’t normally be drawn towards a white pair, but I think pale colours work better than harsh black for this style. The heel is the perfect height for every day wear and I could see myself wearing these with everything from a floral dress to a pair of slouchy boyfriend jeans.
I think the white of these also leaves endless scope when it comes to pedicure polish choice. If you’re having a hard time narrowing down what hue to choose to compliment your footwear then check out Sarenza’s handy guide…a must see for shoe and beauty addicts alike!
