Time is an Illusion

Cardigan c/o Damart
Dress: New Look
Tights: Superdrug
Shoes c/o Yull
Watch c/o The Watch Hut
Autumn is here and with it comes the chunky knits. I’m so in love with this rich red one from Damart who have managed to 100% change my opinions of the brand with their stunning A/W collection (more on that tomorrow).
I teamed the knit with an old favourite owl print dress. Since my Nan passed away I am almost as drawn to owls as I am to cats and I couldn’t resist snapping this up in a sale.
My back is still bad so I opted for sensible flats, my most sophisticated pair from my dear friend Sarah at Yull who seems determined to turn me in to a lady.
The entire outfit is rounded off by this retro fabulous Casio watch which I was kindly gifted. I have mentioned before on the blog my love of watches and I am forever on the look out for more to add to my collection. This silver and burgundy number is just perfect and a unique addition to my collection and I’m drooling over the website creating mental wishlists for yet more.
Well,
that’s about all. As I’ve been off sick for a couple of days not much has happened in my life. I’m back at work now and have spent my free afternoons with Ben and my best friend. I’m quite enjoying this calmer take on things,
if it wasn’t for the sciatic pain I’d be in heaven. At least I’m mainly caught up on blogging and most importantly the Great British Bakeoff.
How is your week going? We’re almost once again at the weekend!
Bakeoff fans, who are you rooting for to win? I’m STILL undecided this year.

Long time blog readers will know what a fan I am of Yull Shoes (and it’s wonderful owner, Sarah) so I am delighted and excited to share with you this fantastic competition that’s currently running…

Here at Yull, we are happy to announce the launch of our first ever design competition! We are giving you the chance to design and name your very own Yull shoe!
Keeping in mind the signature Yull style, we’d like you to put your designer hat on and get creative!

To enter, all you have to do is illustrate your shoe design, whether done digitally or simply with pen and paper, make sure that it is coloured and detailed! Don’t forget to name your shoe, preferably after something British! And also a brief description or the inspiration behind the shoe design.

When you’re done with your design, simply send it in to [email protected] as a PDF file. Please include your full name and contact details in the email. You will receive an email in return within 24hrs of your entry as receipt of your entry. The best design will win!

And if you’re wondering what the prize is…The winning shoe will be featured in Yull’s S/S 14 collection!

The competition opens on the 21st February and closes on the 21st March, the winner will be announced and notified by email on the 22nd March, should the winner not respond within a week, an alternative winner will be chosen and notified on the 29th March and of course will be able to take home a pair!

Buy shoes, do good with Yull!

Just incase you needed further reason to buy new shoes, you can make a stylish AND positive step when purchasing the “shelter” shoe from Yull as 10% of each sale (the shoes are £75) goes to the housing and homelessness charity Shelter. These really are the shoe of the season; with the festive red colour perfect for the coming festivities!

Handmade in the UK from soft, red leather these shoes are both stylish and comfortable as well as a do-good purchase.
I have a lot of love for Yull and it’s founder Sarah (who I now consider a friend) and own two pairs of her shoes and of course, my beloved Chelsea boots.
Sarah may be younger than I am but she founded the business in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength since, based at her flat on Portobello Road in London.

The fact Sarah has created a shoe that supports such a worthy cause is typical of her generous nature, if you want a pair of these shoes you can order them from the Yull website or find them stocked at several independent retailers around the country.

Follow the twitter feed or like on facebook to find out more about stockists and to see what comes next…if previous launches are anything to go by, it’s going to be good (take a peek at the stunning flats that are coming soon for starters!)

*Edit*

Massive congrats to Amy who won my Amara giveaway!

Sorry to those who didn’t win, stay tuned for more giveaways x

Top: Topshop, Jeans: Next, Shoes: Cornbury by Yull

One of the things I love most about blogging is making friends in un-expected places and that is kind of what happened with Sarah of Yull shoes
It was many, many months ago when she first e-mailed me about her business, and since then she has stayed in touch regularly, sharing triumphs of the brand as well as being all round lovely.

I’ve been lucky enough to have sample sized feet, so a couple of times now Sarah has gifted me with sample shoes…the latest being the fabulous Cornbury pair, a real stand out court! As is standard with Yull, these are made to the highest quality and are a treat for the feet! Anyone considering investing in shoes wouldn’t go far wrong browsing her site (I lived in my Chelesea boots ALL winter and they are still going strong).

How is it Thursday? This week has sped by at the speed of light! Not going to complain, the weekend is always much appreciated now I work every week day. Has anyone got any exciting plans? For me it’ll be all about chilling out and seeing friends.

Shhh! Just heard a whisper that Quidco, the cashback website, are hosting a pop up Cashback Boutique on Rathbone Place, off Oxford Circus, next Thursday from 9am-1pm. Amazingly, we’ve heard they’ll be giving away cash to spend in all the high street favourites. Get it in your diary and we’ll keep our ear to the ground for more information!
