Smiggled

I’ve always been a stationary geek; during my school days going shopping for a new pencil case and pens at the end of the school holidays was my favourite thing about going back to school, and when the craze took off I really was the girl with the most gel pens (my teachers were not impressed with my tendency to write in pastel pink).
Recently I was contacted about a company called Smiggle, an Australian brand taking root in the UK (you can click through to the Aussie site to see the full product range). To celebrate the launch of their first UK store opening in Westfield, Stratford I was sent a box of Smiggle goodness and it was just like Christmas all over again!
30 gel pens?! HELLO heaven. I apologies for the amateur scribblings, I was so excited to start using everything but I never did profess to be an artist. Neat handwriting (usually) is as far as I get on the artistic front. But still, what a package of joy and delight. I love the zippy pencil case, I’ve stuffed all my favourite pens in there- am I the only person who has a few pens reserved for “best?”.
I think it’s fair to say I’m a big fan of Smiggle- they have three more stores opening in the UK over the next month or so and I’m really hoping that they eventually decide to come to Bristol so I can go stationary shopping as often as I want…or at the very least launch as an online store. I’ve been having a browse on the Australian website and these pens as well as this iPad case feature high on my wish list.
Fellow stationary geeks, are you excited for the Smiggle?

  1. Surely everyone used to get excited about new stationery for the new term didn’t they? (or are we in the minority?) I know I did.
It’s not a brand I have ever heard of to be honest., but it’s all very nice.

Ahh you can’t go wrong with new stationary, I absolutely loved shopping for stationary at the end of the holidays and I still did it at the start of each term whilst I was at university. Remember how hard it was to find a pencil case that nobody else had?! I’m very jealous of your new gel pens! xx

  4. I too was one to be excited for back to school stationary shopping! The items you have look so damn cute, hope they get a website going.

  9. I still get excited about new stationery! I’m such a stationery geek, every time I go near any shops it’s the first section I head for (even in supermarkets where the range can be poor!). I got a new little notepad in TK Maxx yesterday, I keep looking at it and thinking how wonderful it is haha (that’s probably very sad!!). My friends and I were all like that in school, enjoying picking out a new pencil case and comparing gel pens. One of my best friends Nicola always used to have the best gel pens, she even had those amazing smelly ones. I always loved cinnamon! I’m always excited to see a new Stationery store, I hope Smiggle will bring a store to somewhere nearby to me! xxx
