Spotlight on: Zazu!

It’s no secret that I love to shop, and my absolute favourite type of shopping is buying gifts from other people. I’m always on the look out for independent gift shops to support, so when Chloe from Zazu Jewellery got in touch I was more than happy to oblige.

A bit of background information taken from the website:

“Zazu Jewellery was created by designer maker Chloe Mabey back in 2009. After years of making jewellery she decided to take the leap and turn it into a business.

The jewellery which is all hand crafted features a wide range of semi precious stones, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystal. The end result is a pretty piece of jewellery designed to be worn everyday and eventually to be passed down through your family.
Although a lot of Chloe’s skills are self taught she trained as a jeweller for two years to create unique sterling silver pieces of jewellery.
As all of the items on the site are individually made adjustments and customisations can be made. We also take on commission work which is perfect if you want a one of a kind jewellery item”

The jewellery designs are all beautiful and affordable, making for a unique gift. Chloe sent me a selection of their range of cards, which all feature the same beads used to make the jewellery, replicated in quirky photographic prints. She also popped in a little pocket mirror made with the fabulous star print. The parcel came wrapped in the most luxirious quality gift wrap too, which you can also buy, but it my excitement I tore it beyond redemption (FAIL Laura!)
The cards cost £1.80 each, or a pack of postcards (5) costs £2.50. The giftwrap costs £1.10 per sheet. I think this is pretty damn good considering what you pay in highstreet card shops these days, and I know where I’d rather my money went to!

I can’t wait to see more from Chloe, I know she has plans to expand in to mugs, tote bags, note books and planners…
what would you like to see?

Do you prefer to support smaller businesses? What do you think of Zazu, and where are your favourite places to buy gifts online? (feel free to promote your own shop!)

  5. This stuff all looks so pretty. I like to support independent sellers sometimes, but there are also some things I just can’t afford to buy from Indies all the time so I try and keep it as a mix of both with beautiful indie pieces like these for gifts and special occasions.

  6. It all looks so pretty! x
