The best things come in BIG packages.

Every so often an e-mail comes through from DHL, informing me that another Aussie treat is en route…and each time I sigh a little because no matter how hard I try, I always miss the delivery.

This time I arranged for the parcel to go to my grandparent’s house (handy that they live so close to me) but being me, I totally forgot to inform them…

One very puzzled Nan on the phone later and I popped round to pick up the parcel; to be greeted by a very bemused BALD Grandad standing next to a giant inflatable Aussie shampoo bottle…

You can just about see my Nan’s walking frame in the background; it was as tall as that!

I love Aussie products, and love my role as an Angel; however this latest task has left me a little defeated from the start,
you see, we’re meant to be keeping a diary of how long the new, bigger sized shampoo and conditioners last, and how we do our hair after using them…

(my reindeer could do with some frizz miracle I fear)

Now, I’m not dirty, but I only wash my hair once a week as it really doesn’t need anything more than that. I laughed out loud when Aussie suggested the bottles should last until Christmas…Christmas 2012 maybe!

I am also hair hopeless and rarely, if ever do much more with my hair than blow dry it and tie it up.

But, we’ll see, with a few parties looming and the Christmas break, perhaps I’ll surprise myself and make the best of this challenge!

  2. Wow haha, best of luck with the challenge! I’d get through it in no time as I wash my hair everyday (damn you oily gene).
Your reindeer is fabulous too – is it from Paperchase? I have a black sparkly one from there with a very fetching blue feathery collar…

  3. Haha, the inflatable is awesome!
Super jealous you get away with washing once a week! Mine would be everyday if it weren’t for batiste reducing it to every other :p xx

  4. I have visions of your gran and granddad with this huge inflatable bottle now! Hysterical! Bless em.

Such a lovely thing to get threw the post. Sound like it will last you a while.

  5. The inflatable is pretty cool – v jealous you only have to wash your hair once a week..simply because you get that extra time in bed which I spend washing my hair haha :p xx

  6. It takes me ages to get through a bottle of shampoo too- I only wash mine every 3-4 days (depending on schedule etc, can go up to 5 if manically busy or wake up late!)
I love the thought of what on earth your grandparents thought! !

  7. I thought the same when they said it should last till the end of December – the normal bottles last me a couple of months and I was my hair about 3 times a week! I’ll never get through the big bottle!

  12. I saw on someone else’s blog (can’t remember who, sorry) that she only washes her hair once a week so is thinking they’ll last her ages!
    xx

  13. Haha that’s fantastic !

  14. I love Aussie. I find the shampoo lasts ages but I use the conditioner up on no time because I have loads of hair and it gets really dry. I guess your grandparents would have been a little surprised

  15. i have to wash my hair 3/4 times a week. love the huge bottle!

I agree about the 2012 thing! I only actually wash my own hair once a month myself (I try to alternate between that and going to the hairdresser) as I only need to wash every 2-3 weeks. I still have a lot of Aussie bottles to get through from previous events and ended up using the conditioner to shave my legs!

  17. ahaha I LOVE the reindeer! I saw that the other and was so tempted to get it for my secret santa but thought they wouldn’t appreciate it as much as I would!
