Get up and Go

My first personal-ish post on the new look site, I can’t believe it’s taken me just over a week to get a chance to do this but I suppose I can be excused just this once. Thank you for the amazing feedback on the blog’s makeover, I’m really lucky that my boyfriend was prepared to teach himself all the required code and skills to do this for me, I picked a good ‘un eh? If you have any feedback on the site or any questions you can find all my contact details in the handy “contact” tab.
Knowing I was having back surgery soon I collected a few outfit shots beforehand so my blog didn’t become one long wishlist. The first of these, below features dire photography. That’s my number one goal for my new site, improve my photography! That and keep blogging about the things I love, even if it is just a lot of posts about fabulous brands and lookbooks. Don’t like it? Don’t read it. Simples!
Cardigan: New Look | Dress: Primark | Tights: New Look | Boots: c/o Sarenza
I bought this dress by accident. I had popped in to Primark on my way home from Ben’s as I had time to kill between buses. My intention was to get a pack of black tights and leave but I got distracted by a rail of £5 dresses and ended up with this one, and a week later a blue one. Oops. The cardigan was another bargain costing £10 in the New Look sale. I was looking for a replacement for my black one but the deep bottle green of this became more tempting and actually, it’s better quality than the similar black one I own and goes with just as many of my clothes. The boots are no more after I had an accident involving a kerb and the sole, I’m a bit gutted as they went with everything and were SO comfortable. Still, it’s an excuse to buy a replacement next winter (still working on being on a shopping ban right now due to very little money coming my way).
As most of you know, I had surgery on my back last week. I’m now 6 days post-op and feeling pretty ok. I’m in some pain still but it’s much easier to tolerate than the pain I had before the procedure. I still can’t do much. I’m not allowed to sit for too long, or lift a kettle (or anything really) and can only go for short walks at the moment. I’m a bit bored but twitter and a bunch of crafts are keeping me going stir crazy and I’ve had plenty of visitors and gorgeous parcels in the post which have kept me smiling. I’ve read a book and a half so far and I’m working on eating my way back to normal. I’m really hopeful that by the time I go back to work on March 18th I’ll be pain free and ready to make the very best of life, I’m so excited to be in a position to start exercising…bring on a healthy, toned and fit body and a much healthier lifestyle.
Have you got any tips to keep me occupied? How about a blogger meetup on my bed? I’ll provide tea and a cat.
