Mustard top: Bershka
Tribal cardigan: Matalan
Skinny jeans: Oasis
Boots: c/o Sarenza
This outfit was a result of Monday afternoon “can’t be arsed” type thoughts. Tired from a morning taking blood and freezing cold I just pulled out whatever clothes looked like they might go together and hoped for the best.
I don’t know why I don’t wear this cardigan more, it’s so warm and snug. I struggle with the draping- some people make it look so effortless but I just find it awkward.
I’m so happy it’s mid-week, it feels like the weekend was forever ago. It’s been an oddly satisfying week so far though, in a way I can’t really explain. I’m starting to feel a bit more positive again too although whether that will still be the case the other side of my 7:15am start at work remains to be seen.
I’ve spent my spare time lately browsing the new arrivals on all the clothing websites I frequently haunt, my wish list is growing by the second and I am happy to see florals will once again reign supreme.
What have you spied that you hope to buy for the new season? I’ve never really planned ahead before but I’m starting to rethink that…a slow and steady influx of stylish basics can only be a good thing, right?

  3. Ooh, you look so warm! Yes, basics that go with everything are on my radar – I have too many mismatching things to start buying into S/S trends just yet. x

  4. I like the draped cardigan, and I’m always a fan of mustard.

  10. Warmth and comfort are always winners!
I’ve been loving the more punk/gothic stuff I’ve seen in the shops recently. Especially the lace and the studs. That and a gorgeous pair of leather boots I just spotted on the Matalan website.

  11. The tribal cardigan from Matalan is beautiful! Warm and snug sounds really good right now as well. I’m still shopping for the new season. Yes, having pretty and functional stylish basics sounds like a good plan to me.

  12. I disagree, you do draping really well!! I love this cardigan especially in this weather right now. I have had the heating on all day! hello massive gas bills!

  15. This cardigan looks fab, I’m a fan of waterfall styles and the Aztec pattern is gorgeous.
I’m hankering after a full circle knee length skirt for the warmer months, I might polish off my sewing machine and make one. I’ve been avoiding most of the new collections, I’m no a strict spending ban!

  16. Ohh this cardi does look lovely and cosy. I’m planning on NOT buying anything for the new season and rewearing what I’ve got.. let’s see if that actually happens!

  17. I love that cardigan, it looks super snuggly :).
Stylish basics are always a good thing to be on the look out for, I always seem to end up buying statement pieces and then have nothing to wear them with! I need to take a leaf out of your book! x

  18. Just love the tribal cardy with the mustard top, goes really well together. Matalan is my secret shopping place, fantastic clothes and not too costly! I get loads of stuff from there. I actually really like the waterfall style, it suits the print and length. Best, Flora

  19. Poor lighting is ruining my life! This cardigan looks sooo cute on, love it.

  20. You – as always – look awesome! I know what you mean about draping, I really want to ‘nail’ layering this season but I just end up looking bulky!

You look gorgeous. Hope you’re OK – sorry I haven’t commented in a while!

  21. Sad to hear that the draping is awkward, because that cardigan is freaking amazing. Really want something like this to go with my dresses for work, as a slight dress down- Can’t be outsmarting the boys in intellect and wardrobe, now can I?!
