More Burts Bees

So, I think we established in my last post about them that I love Burts Bees! My lips have never been in better condition, which is quite something given the variety of products I have tried.

I also gathered from that post that a lot of YOU are fans too, which is why I’m sharing this with you.

Burt’s Bees and Alex Monroe have collaborated to raise funds for the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and produced this gorgeous Honey Bee Necklace. The necklace will be available online at alexmonroe.com from 1st March and is priced at £165, £30 of which will be donated from each sale to the BBKA.

I think Bees are fascinating little creatures and this is a very worthy cause supporting Bee Keepers in the ever more complicated industry.
Bees are a vital part of our food chain (a third of our food wouldn’t be available without them!) and lets not forget honey…and Burts Bees!

What do you think?

Will you be showing your support with this gorgeous necklace? It’s headed straight on to my wish list.

  1. Poor bees, they’re in real peril at the moment.

That’s a cute necklace but I can’t help thinking they’d have done better to produce something at a much cheaper price point that a lot more people would have been able to afford. I like it but I don’t have that sort of cash to spend on one piece of jewellery!

  2. Its a very lovely necklace however it’s out of my price range! I do love their products though.

My father inlaw keeps bees and has two hives. Great for getting yummy honey! Shame he can’t make lip balm really!

  3. this necklace is gorgeous! personally i’m not a big fan of bees near me! But i think as long as there away from me there beautiful creatures!

  4. It is a beautiful necklace but a tad on the pricey side.
    xx

  5. Totally agree with Alex, that was my first thought when I saw the price. I’d have parted with say £10-£20 for something to support them but they’re asking way too much.

I thought I was the only one into Burt’s Bees but the lipbalms are looking to be the most popular part of my giveaway – I was quite shocked!

Can I also recommend Blistex for poorly lips, it really is a wonder cream! xx

  6. gorgeous necklace! but it’s too much out of my pricerage!! 🙁 x

  7. I’d have loved to buy this for my friend who is a beekeeper but its way out of my price range. Nice thought, though. xxx

  8. lovely necklace, my first thought was that i would get one as one of my guides is wanting to do her beekeeper badge, which they no longer make a badge for, so have been looking for something else to award her, but sadly not this as the price is just too much 🙁
    i love it though!!

  9. Um, I need that necklace. Thats exactly what I envisioned last year when I went on an epic hunt for a bee witha flower necklace last year at my birthday. good thing its almost exactly a year later (and almost my birthday again). WANT SO BAD.
Have you read Secret Life of Bees? Its got a lot of fascinating information about bees too.

  10. It’s very pretty but it seems waay over priced…

I can’t help but think they would have raised more money by producing something within the £10 – £20 range (or maybe even a small bee pin for £2) which more people would purchase thereby raising more awareness and funds for their cause.

  11. Gorgeous necklace!!!

  12. I didn’t realize bees’ such an important role in the food chain? I’ll go for the cause… bees up!

  13. oh! love it!

  16. Same as the others I would have loved it but not at that price. I have a thing for bees, I love the little critters.

That is so pretty, but out of my price range 🙁

  18. dan

    thats so cute! xx

  19. Brilliant idea for fund-raising – shame about the price – they’ll be pricing out loads of potential buyers. I’d of definitely brought out but certainly not for that price – unfortunately.

I don’t think the plight of the bee’s are being shouted out loud enough. Poor creatures. Sometimes I think we forget the problems local everyday creatures as well as the bigger famous animals are facing too.

  20. That’s gorgeous, and for a worthy cause, we must help the poor bees!

  21. I won’t be buying the necklace because it’s just too expensive but it is so pretty.

  22. Bee

  25. Very cute necklace but I agree with others, it might have been better to make a lower price point for higher sales. x

  26. This is such a fantastic collaboration, I’m weirdly a big fan of bees, and i adore the Burt’s products and Alex Monroe
This is such a beautiful piece for a very very good cause

  27. Ahh I adore Burts bees. I am addicted to using the lip balm. This necklace is gorgeous and such a great cause too!

  28. Oh my gosh Burts Bees. By FAR the best chapstick.
How I wish I could afford this necklace! I am absolutely in love with it, but there’s that whole issue with having a way to pay for it.. haha which definitely isn’t a possibility with my bank account.
It’s definitely going on my Christmas list though. (Yes I work on my Christmas list all year round. 🙂 Maybe I’ll get lucky and find out Santa has a soft spot for the bees.

  29. I love Burts Bees!
I didn’t realize that bees are that important! haha I get so freaked out by them!

I would get this necklace, if I could afford it right now and then some! But it will be on my wishlist!

  30. Such a pretty necklace!

  31. This is amazing! Maybe because I’m such a bee fan. I long to have a hive but I’d probably end up like Thomas J in My Girl…(!)

    xx

  32. I can’t believe I didn’t see this, and you’re so right as well. Bees are an extremely important part of our ecosystem and as a geography student this post gets double points from me, for cute animal jewellery and eco points 😀 xxx
