We all Love a Wedding

As April 29th proved, we all love a good wedding! Summer is prime time for the exchanging of vows; everyone wants to make the most of the supposed sunshine. I’m now at that age where friends are getting engaged, which means at some point I will be (hopefully) attending weddings, which has of course got me thinking “what the heck will I wear?”

A few months ago I blogged about Girl Meets Dress and I have been in e-mail contact with them ever since. The other day we were talking about weddings, and they have kindly sent over an article with some style advice (as well as gorgeous dresses!)

Look sophisticated in this off-white floor length one-shoulder gown by Lolita Karma. The black and yellow sash that runs across the body adds a twist to an otherwise plain dress, and rescues it from the precarious territory of being a bit-too-bridal.

Go for bold, and embrace all things ‘colour pop’ in this Harlow maxi dress by the much talked about Gorgeous Couture. With rouched shoulders, a draped bodice, and daring cutaway hip detailing, this dress will ensure you make a luxurious statement. A jacket and clutch is all you need for you outfit to be wedding ready!

Be fun and feathery in this demure Amee Lou Francisca dress. The ostrich feather detail and
playful hemline keeps the look light and keeps it from being overly formal.

For a dress that really does have the magic touch, turn to the Butter By Nadia slate dress.
Dubbed the ‘miracle dress’ among other nicknames, the dress is able to be wrapped in
countless ways, and ‘miraculously’ will fit a size 6 to a 16! Feel great and look sexy whatever
your size in this fabulously versatile dress.

Still not sure? The good news is GirlMeetsDress have even more dresses, found in their wedding guest dress section!

Hiring a dress for any occasion is even cheaper with the GirlMeetsDress membership scheme, that allows you to rent any one dress each month no matter the price, for just £39! So a dress that would cost £200 to hire, you can have for less than £40!

And in the meantime it’s back to weddings: here’s to the bride and groom. And of course, to you and your dress!

Just a Note: I just wanted to make it clear that although GMD provided this post for me, I received no payment, and will receive no payment should you wish to hire a dress! I’ve had a few reader requests for a wedding outfit helped post, so this seemed the perfect opportunity. I would personally use GMD if, and when I go to a wedding, far better than spending a fortune on a dress I will only ever wear once (because that’s how I roll).

I hope you find this post useful. Big thank you to GMD for providing the content; every post you see this weekend is scheduled due to me actually getting a life…so it has been a big help!

  1. I love, love, love the Amee Lou Francisca dress! Like you said, it’s less formal and in addition to being a perfect dress for special occasions, I think it would work perfectly (in a little bit decadent way!)as a dress that could be worn in more casual settings:) They’re all very lovely though; thanks for sharing them:) xx

  2. Beautiful dresses. Love the idea of hire rather than spending hundreds of pounds.
