You might think, that given my aversion to fitted trousers [that I am now over-coming, thanks to the amazing feedback] that I’d find the wide legged variety somewhat easier to wear.
But in truth,
if anything I find it harder. The name gives the clue. Wide.
As in, as much as slim fitting shows what I want to hide…the counterpart can add un-wanted bulk and make me feel…dumpy. For want of a better word.
But this is me,
and I’ve had this pair of trousers in my wardrobe far too long. I know that most of my insecurities about what I look like,
and how clothes make me appear lie firmly within my head. Other people looking at me might not see me the same way I do
[although I imagine a few patients glancing at me and thinking I should come with a “wide load” sticker attached to my rear]
and so today I am wearing the wide legged black trousers to work. A staple for many…a stumbling block for me…I refuse to let some pieces of material defeat me.
Here goes nothing!
My next outfit post will feature what I am wearing to have a social life tonight. Don’t all fall off your chairs at once now.

They look right for your body shape. Wide or slim fitted, it does not matter as long as it’s on the right body shape.

I honestly think it’s impossible for wide legged trousers to make anyone your height look wide – they just show off how gorgeously long your legs are.

They look lovely! I think as long as they’re fitted at your bum and you don’t wear baggy tops with them to swamp you, then there’s balance and the wide leg is flattering 🙂
wide legged trousers are so in at the moment but I don’t have any to wear. There is no way on earth they make you look wide Laura! I don’t think I own more than one pair of black trousers, and they’re far too long for me.

You look fab in those pants! I am a size 18 – 20 in trousers and I often wear wide leg trousers for work with heels, I always feel really fab, tall and swishy in them, you get the swish without a skirt!

I think wide leg trousers are slightly more flattering that skinnies. They can hide a lot (I’m saying this from personal experience).

They look great although I know what you mean, I always think my legs look like one big tree trunk when I wear wide trousers. Impossible to find a trouser suit with narrow leg trousers though!
