For quite a few years the shoe shop Charles Clinkard somewhat passed me buy. It’s a shop I had regularly walked past when at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway but it wasn’t until I met someone who worked there that I actually paid it any attention.
I’ve been having a browse recently as my boot affections are shifting from the ankle boot to a high legged style. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll forever love the ankle boot but for now it’s the longer the better.
Vitti Love Westbury long boots- £110 (reduced price) are so my kind of thing. Effortlessly chic and yet a little bit tough with that smashing buckle detail. Perfect with a monochrome outfit, which, as I’m wearing a lot of monochrome at hte moment makes me want them all the more.
The Gabor Gatsby boot in black patent and suede isn’t something I’d usually be drawn to. For some reason patent to me must be reserved to ballet flats only and yet this was the first pair of boots I zoomed in on. I think it’s got more to do with that fabulous quilted suede detailing. These would look amazing with a brightly coloured dress and are unique without being dated.
Another Gabor style here, this time the “Supra” style, another one of those chic yet tough styles that I seem to favour over anything else. At £135 they aren’t cheap (although they are reduced) but these would last years and if I had that kind of money then I’d be making the investment.
Of course, there are also several hundered pairs of ankle boots I could share too, there always is, but today it’s about the long and lean. I do own one pair of longer length boots but seeing these makes me resent them a little bit for their lack of refinement and character.
I must stop window shopping on my afternoons off, I really must.

I love a knee high boot. They look good with most things.
My favourite of those are the first pair. They’re similar to a pair of Duo boots I bought about five years ago (still going strong). I think black knee highs are definitely investment pieces. Worth splashing out on.
