Zagg- a guest post by my Dad

Not so long ago I featured a Logitech iPad case that I was kindly sent to review. Shortly after that I was given the generous offer of another case, this time by Zagg and given that my Dad was eyeing up my Logitech wonder I decided to accept and let him review the case and keep it for his iPad.
The model we received was the iPad Profolio+ which boasted backlit keys, full body protection and an ultra thin design. It costs £109.00 in black- other colours may cost more.
Dad’s review (sent from his iPad of course) are below:

For those that want to use their iPad mainly as an E-reader the Zagg Keys Profolio+ is not for them. The rigid case makes it awkward but not impossible to use in portrait. The rest is all good news.

The case is slimline, rigid and protective. The magnetic lock when you close it is secure. Setting up couldn’t be easier. Once you power up and hit the pair button you just go to iPad settings,  enable Bluetooth and it pairs instantly.

The central groove holds the iPad securely whether using it on a hard surface or on your lap. There is a choice of 7 back light colours for the keyboard which are practical and look good as well.

I’m not the fastest typist but I found the keyboard responsive. The movement on the keys give reassurance that you have typed the character you want. I’m not sure how a faster typist would get on with it but it feels like a “normal” keyboard to me.

I found the shortcut keys useful (home, search, onscreen keyboard, volume, fast forward and rewind keys).

All in all I am very happy with this keyboard which enhances the experience of using my iPad.

Smart Casual

Blouse c/o Damart
Jeans: Oasis
Shoes: Clarks (last year)
I don’t really own many blouses, it’s only recently that I’ve started being drawn toward them and even more recent than that when I made my first purchase. I remember loving this particular blouse when I posted about Damart’s incredible A/W lookbook a couple of months ago and I was both surprised and delighted when it landed on my doorstep last week (PR surprises = amazing!)
Because I’ve not been in work for a while now I didn’t really fancy styling it in a smart way as I want to save that for when I go back. Instead I stuck on my old faithful Oasis jeans and some neglected Clarks flats and hoped for the best.
It made a nice change to what I usually wear and I felt a bit more put together than I usually do when I wear jeans. I swear it made me more productive too as I covered a lot of ground with blog posts I needed to write. I was also sent one of Damart’s brilliant thermal vests which has been so bloody useful on my slow daily walks to stop my back seizing up.
On the back front things do seem to be slowly improving. My left leg is perhaps a teeny bit less useless and I am standing straighter and taking less painkillers…apparently slow and steady wins the race.
I was also recently sent this fabulous FabricSkin Keyboard Folio from the kind people at Logitech. I’m not really a gadgets person and as much as I love my iPad I did find blogging from it quite frustrating. This handy little thing has changed that. Instead of lugging my laptop around with me I can now blog as easily from my tablet as I can from anywhere else. It works via bluetooth and although I would probably never have made the purchase for myself (purely because I didn’t know it existed) I found myself ridiculously excited about this and extremely grateful to Logitech for bringing it to my attention. Now to stop my Dad stealing it for his iPad!

Music on the Move with Nude Audio

Since being with Ben I’ve become a serious music fanatic again. It started with the occasional listen on Spotify or when I was at his but now I can’t bear to be without music, especially when I’m falling asleep.
This was proving to be a problem as falling asleep with headphones in is a) uncomfortable and b) a bit dangerous so I had started to look around for some Wireless Speakers. Literally a day in to my search I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to try out a portable Bluetooth speaker from the folks at Nude Audio
Problem solved!

First up, I loved the look of this speaker, so bright and fun! It’s also really neat and compact meaning I can pack it in my handbag or backpack to take my music anywhere I please!
The size did make me wonder what the sound quality would be like- could it give a good playback being so dinky?
Yes, yes it can. This thing packs some serious punch and I’m loyal to it already! It’s super simple to set up and can be used for non Bluetooth devices too thanks to a simple cable. It has approx 8 hours of battery life which is pretty good and it charges up via a USB.
The speakers cost between £19.99 (for the S size) through to £99.99 (for the L). My speaker is the M variety.
All speakers come in a choice of two colours- the charcoal/coral like mine or a pretty grey/mint combination.
And what have I been listening to most lately?
This catchy little number that Ben introduced me to at the weekend.
He has seriously crazy guitar skills!
