Why Vaping is Better Than Smoking*

There are very few things in life that are entirely risk-free, and when you decide to smoke or vape you already know about the risks and make an informed decision based on that.

However, many people use vaping as a way to quit cigarettes for good despite there still being some, albeit it lesser risks; that begs the question, why is vaping better than smoking?

Chemical

We know that cigarettes are jam-packed with chemicals, and most of the time that won’t bother a smoker. But when you hear that it’s things like arsenic, ammonia and lead – it might give you reason to stop and think.

When it comes to vaping, you don’t have any of those chemicals in a typical liquid.

Most vaping liquids will have VP and PG, which are food colouring ingredients – and nicotine if you choose to add it.

Flavours

Cigarettes come in two flavours – regular and menthol (although the mint ones aren’t available as they once were). But with vaping you can choose any flavour you like and when I vaped this was a big part of the appeal.

Feel like smoking blueberry pancakes? No problem. Fancy some strawberry cheesecake? Also possible – check with your local Vape Supplies store what they have available.

Ease of use

Early models of vaping machines were often fiddly and felt awkward to use. However, modern vaping devices are easy to use, and some have a vast array of options.

You can buy powerful vape machines that billow big thick smoke clouds or discrete ones that fit in the palm of your hand. It’s up to you what you choose.

Helps reduce smoking

Many smokers want to quit, but when it comes to it – it can be pretty tricky. It’s not just about the chemicals in the cigarette; it is also about the actions.

Sitting with a morning coffee and a cigarette – you need something to occupy your hands. You are heading out with friends who smoke? The temptation can be too much – even with supportive friends.

Vaping can and has helped millions of people reduce how much they smoke or quit entirely.

Less addictive

It is much easier to stop vaping than it is to stop smoking. Many people start with a vape juice with some nicotine and slowly go down until they just have the experience and the flavour.

This means that it becomes easier to simply stop vaping if you feel like it.

If the overall goal is to stop smoking and vaping altogether, then vaping makes it possible to get down to zero nicotine.

No butts

Even if you don’t personally drop cigarette butts, they are still everywhere. Since there are no butts with vaping, they don’t have the same kind of impact on the environment that smoking does.

Compared to the smoke that a cigarette emits, what comes from a vape machine is essentially steam, which isn’t harmful to the environment.

Smoking is a tough habit to kick to the curb, but the more you know about vaping the more you can see why many people have successfully made the switch.

Review: Orca Solo Plus*

[ad: gifted item]

With all that’s going on at the moment it’s been hard to pull myself together to write much in the way of blog posts. I’m a “key worker” in a field that is being hit full force by the Corona Virus and when I’m not in work, I’m in an exhausted, anxious and fairly brain-dead heap.

If anything was going to drive me back to cigarettes it would be this, and to be honest I can’t believe that (apart from the odd one) it hasn’t. I put this down in large part to having a really decent vape set up, my main mod, plus a sleek new addition to my collection courtesy of e-cigarette direct has kept me mostly on the straight and narrow.

The Vaporesso Orca Solo Plus kit is a neat little set up that has become my go-to for when I’m out and about. It has an impressive battery life, is super simple to set up and despite being dinky and very lightweight it delivers a powerful hit.

“This easy to use vape device comes with a choice of two coils. The 1.3Ω ceramic CCELL coil combines great taste with a smooth airflow and is ideal for use with nicotine salts. Meanwhile, the 0.6Ω OC meshed coil utilises a mesh design for an even temperature distribution, improved flavour and vapour and a punchier throat hit.

The Orca Solo Plus comes with 6 power settings which are controlled by pushing the fire button three times.”

I let Bob have a try on this too, as he is even more picky over his set-up than I am and even he was pleasantly suprised at how good this was, especially for it’s £17.99 price tag. I think he’s considering getting one as a back up kit, and I can’t blame him.

The Orca Solo Plus comes in four colours, comes with a free e-liquid to get you started and would be an ideal kit for anyone wanting to test the waters of vaping.

Stocking Fillers and Festive Flavour from E-Cigarette Direct*

It’s been a while since I last posted about my vaping journey, in short, I’m still at it 90% of the time. I have lapsed back to cigarettes from time to time, mainly when I have a gin in hand, but it’s not the same any more and I always regret it. See, the thing about vaping that keeps me sticking with it is the huge variety of flavours; that and the ability to tweak nicotine content to my current needs (mostly I’m down to 3mg juices, when I started I was on 12mg!).
My pals at e-cigarette direct recently hooked me up with a delicious festive flavour so I thought what better time to pop up a quick post for anyone who is interested, so, here we go…

Cinnamon Spiced Slice by Ohm Baked c/o e-cigarette direct

I’m all about the sweets and baked goods when it comes to my juices, and I’ve always loved the Ohm Baked brand for their wide range of bakery inspired flavours. Cinnamon Spiced Slice is based on a fresh apple tart, warm from the oven with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon to finish it off.

I love this, it’s warming, it’s nostalgic and it’s definitely festive. The 50ml short-fill bottle costs £13.99 which I think is a bargain considering I was spending almost that on ONE packet of cigarettes and one 50ml bottle lasts me at least three weeks. A must have for any vapers seeking out a festive fix.

WizMix E-liquids c/o e-cigarette direct

If you’re looking for last minute stocking fillers for any vapers you know then I highly recommend WizMix 10ml bottles. It’s a brand I’ve used from the very beginning and have remained loyal to. Each bottle costs £3.99 and they have such a wide choice of flavours. Above are some of my favourites- I highly recommend strawberry jam and vanilla ice-cream if you have a sweet tooth!

There is still time to get your order in time for Christmas, just have it placed by tomorrow for guaranteed delivery.

Fellow vapers let me know what brands and flavours you’re currently loving…I’m always down for discovering and trying new things.

Review: Liquid Ice Nic+

[post contains gifted items]

It’s been a while since I posted any vape related content, not because I’ve lapsed (although I do confess to a couple of cigarettes when I’ve had a drink in my hand) but because I haven’t tried anything that new, or that noteworthy. I’ve become quite settled in my routine, but as part of the vaping experience is the wide range of flavours and liquids available I will never turn down the chance to try something new.

I was recently re-contacted by Liquid Ice who I teamed up with a few months back.

They very kindly sent me a range of flavours from their collection of Nicotine+, their evolution of nicotine products. I was incredibly intrigued as to how this could be different and whether it would impress.

Nicotine + is the evolution of nicotine and features some of the vape world’s most famous flavours, the full line-up includes Red Astaire, Black n Blue, Green Kelly, Lizzy rascal and Gin’s Addiction and is available in 10 and 20 mg.

Nicotine + enhances flavour of e-liquids as it has a lower PH compared to normal nicotine which means you will get a smoother throat hit. It also provides faster absorption of nicotine into the body you will feel instant satisfaction.

I was sent the above three flavours, all of which I reviewed and rated highly in my previous post with Liquid Ice….so was Nic+ any different? And if so, was it different in a good way?

I would say yes, yes it is. The flavour of the juices was very much the same- all three of these juices pack a big punch and are firm favourites.
In terms of smoothness there is a marked difference- I often find the higher nicotine juices a bit too harsh but these definitely weren’t, and I definitely noticed that I was satisfied, perhaps even satiated with a much lesser amount meaning I’ve been vaping less making them slightly more economical too.

For anyone big in to their vaping I’d recommend giving Nicotine+ a go, it’s a really interesting concept and I’d like to see a bigger range of flavours available in the future.

New Vampire Vape at E-Cigarette Direct

[post contains gifted items]
You may recall at the start of the month I raved about the juice brand Vampire Vape and how awesome there flavours were.
I was recently sent even more awesome by the brand from the e-cigarette direct team and given the success of my previous experiences with the brand I understandably couldn’t wait to get stuck in to this new bunch of flavours.
Rhubarb crumble is my all time favourite dessert so I was intrigued by how it would translate in to a juice. My instant hit was of sweet rhubarb, followed by it’s characteristic sharp tang. The experience finished with a buttery crumble flavour; all that was missing was the custard, delicious!
The name “Charger’ gives no clues as to what to expect from this juice and I did check the website before giving it a whirl. Described as “red fruits and berries with citrus and aniseed”, this is a lovely little medley of flavours that is fresh and fruity with a touch of sophistication from the aniseed. Loved it.
I love sweet flavours so I was very excited by the promised of crushed candy. This is a lovely blend of super fresh fruits and bubblegum and is right up my street- you could really taste the watermelon notes in this one, another hit for Vampire Vape.
I always swore I’d avoid tobacco blends but if anyone is going to convince me to try it then it’s Vampire Vape! Luckily I got more smooth vanilla from this than I did tobacco, and whilst I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this juice I am glad I tried it and I think it would be perfect for anyone looking to make a transition from tobacco to more adventurous flavours.
Last but not least we have “Catapult”. Another name that doesn’t give much away, this one promises blackcurrants and summer fruits as well as menthol. I love how much the brand uses menthol to bring an unexpected twist to their juices, it what really makes them stand out for me. Another simple sounding blend with a sophisticated edge.

There are still many flavours from the brand I am yet to try, top of my current wish list is parma violet as I loved those little sweets of the same name when I was a kid! You can see the full range of flavours here, if you have experience with the brand let me know which else I need to test out.
