doomsday

I am declaring today doomsday. Why? Well, I’m facing two big challenges.

1. I am off to the dentist shortly for my first filling. I am scared of the needle. Very scared. Which considering how many blood tests, injections, tattoos and piercings I have is highly odd. I just really don’t want a needle in my mouth. Thanks.

2. Later on I am off to get my hair done with Hayley and Aussie. What is it that scares me most? Certainly not meeting people for the first time, or the fact I am hopeless at locating my way around the city which I’ve lived near all my life. It’s the hair dressing itself that scares me. I am a fidgeter, and not very good with people in my personal space. I am also hideously ashamed that I have a flaky scalp that no amount of washing, primping and general taking care seems to fix (please don’t judge me).
However, my hair is in dire need, and well, sillyness aside I am quite looking forward to a bit of pampering and girl time after such a manic few weeks.
((don’t ask me what I’m having done, the simple answer is “not a sodding clue”))

I’m wearing a dress from Clothing at Tesco (that I purchased with a very generous gift of a voucher)
Tesco are killing it right now with some amazing and affordable pieces..I wasn’t able to make the A/W press day but I hear it’s INCREDIBLE.

At some point yesterday I also had really awesome nails. I picked up this nail polish sticker things in Superdrug on clearance for £1.49 and tried them out. They were so easy to apply and looked amazing. Sadly for me, they were also easy to remove, and mere hours later I had joyfully peeled them all off. FAIL Laura, FAIL.

How’s your week kicking off guys? I hope no-one got blown away by that hideous wind we had yesterday

  1. That dress is lovely and I can’t wait to see what you have done with your hair 🙂 Hayley is lovely too 🙂 Those nails would be perfect for a party too!

  2. Loving the nails and the dress. One of my favourite dresses is from Sainsbury’s. Good luck today at the dentist – hope you get a sticker. xxx

  3. Looking forward to seeing what Aussie do with your hair! Im sure it will look fab!

DW about the dentist. I hate the dentist so much i just dont talk all day until ive been! But trust me, fillings arent that bad, they even have a gel they rub on your gum before doing the injection so you cant feel it! You will feel so much better once its over and done with though! A complete weight off your shoulders!!

    xx

  4. Won’t post anything scary about it but I share your fear of dentist needles. I don’t really find much comfort in them saying it’s different from a normal injection. Both scary!

I’m sure you’ll get a lovely hair cut though 🙂

  5. The dress and nails are fabulously gorgeous! and yes my dear, you are definitely gorgeous! 🙂

I’m scared of needles too! I’m 22 years old and still afraid of needles and swimming and heights..haha

ps) lovely dress from tesco- i see a lot of nice clothes online coming from there and I have never visited it!

  8. You look lovely! I hate getting my hair cut too. Absolutely awful experience that is in no way relaxing and more likely to be anguish filled than anything else! Can you tell I’ve had a few bad experiences? 🙂

  10. are they like nail foils? i barely remember to paint my nails let alone do anything this fancy with them!

  11. Love the nail foils, they look fab. Have fun with your hair treatment, I would love to be in your shoes, though not for the filling.

  12. Good luck with the challenges… All will go well! Your nails are the cutest.

  13. I must admit I share your fear of hairdressers! Good luck with both today. Love that dress. xxx

  14. Good luck at the dentists! My Dad is a dentist so I tend to have more sympathy with them haha… but no pain no gain right? 🙂 Good luck! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

  15. Ha, I dread getting my hair done for the exact same reasons as yourself! I love your dress, it’s gorgeous. I’ve been spotting quite a few cute things in Tesco’s lately! x

  16. I like the nails, I’d probably end up peeling them off too though!
That wind was quite something yesterday – I tried taking some outfit pics outside but the wind blew my camera over!

  17. Good luck at the dentist. I’ve had both filling with and without injection and to be honest the injection hurt more than the filling… but maybe that’s just me?
As for the hairdressers, enjoy, be pampered and be sure to post us some pics.

ps. sorry about mentioning the shoes… they ARE a bargain though x

  18. I dont like hairdressers either. But i can’t wait to see what you’re getting done. And hope your mouth doesn’t hurt too much from the dentist 🙁

  19. I can totally empathise with the whole being terrified of needels in the mouth, fillings are not pleasant! Good luck getting your hair done, looking forward toseeing what it looks like! 🙂 xx

  20. I love your dress, it’s such a gorgeous print and colour! Swooning over it a little bit! Good luck at the dentist, I’ve never had a filling so I hope it’s not too painful for you! x

Re the flaky scalp – if you don’t already, make sure you dry your hair till it’s bone dry, immediately after washing. Leaving it damp can cause dermatitis which leads to flakiness. Failing that, get yourself a bottle of Nizoral shampoo!

  27. Glad you got the dentist out of the way, it’s never as bad as you imagine it will be is it? You look divine today and I’, so chuffed at your constant progress, you are a little star!

  28. ohhh the dentist – though strangely I quite enjoy a trip to the dentist (bar having needles in my mouth of course) – I like it when my teeth are squeeky clean afterwards.

also loving your dress – I wish there was a big tesco/asda/sainsbury’s near me that stocked clothes!

    xx

  30. Hope your hair appointment went well, can’t wait to see photos!

  31. Hope the dentist went ok. As for the flaky scalp have you tried T/Gel?? That stuff works wonders!

Urgh the dentist! Hope it went ok!
That dress is gorgeous and ooh la la to your nails! Bet the hair appointment with Aussie was great – on Saturday I was definitely wishing I’d picked lusciously lighter hair – the yoga was intense! X

  33. Ha ha that’s so funny! I am like that with rings! Fiddle fiddle It goes on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off- oops, just dropped it down a drain!

Nice dress! I like the floaty sleeves and cornflower blue shade!

  34. I had exactly the same trouble when I got my hair lopped off but it was absolutely fine – think the endless scalp rubbing must have helped cos they just used normal shampoo, not my usual T-Gel.

Can’t wait to see your new do!

  35. i bought a cute dress from tesco the other day for 16.00 and i love it!! x

  36. I HATE the dentist, UGH!

  37. I hope your day turned out a bit better than you thought! Hopefully you are pleased with your haircut, I am sure it will look lovely!

  38. ooh those nail stickers are so cute! i would’ve thought you painted them yourself – too bad you peeled them off!
