Dress Down Friday

I spent a lot of time between Christmas and New Year chilling out in the comfiest clothes possible. For the first time in years I actually had almost an entire week off work between the two big days and fully embraced the casual approach to fashion, chilling out and eating an awful lot of Quality Streets. Of course it’s now back to business as usual but I did manage to grab one last outfit post in my parents’ back garden before the big move happens (tomorrow, eek!)

Dress: Neon Rose (old) | Tights: Primark | Boots c/o Lunar Shoes

This dress is a firm favourite of mine for chilling out in as it ticks all the right boxes- comfortably jersey fabric, a flared skirt and the all important tartan which keeps it feeling a little bit festive. You’ll have to forgive the slightly grumpy expression as I had just returned from the dentist having had a root canal done; not exactly a great thing at any time of year, but right on top of Christmas was just brutal!
How have you found the transition back to work? I’m lucky enough to love my job so never do find it a chore to go back. That said, the week has taken on a bit of a manic edge having used every evening to be packing up my belongings…all I can say is I NEED to lose my hoarding tendencies!

  1. Your outfit is adorable. I hear ya on both the tooth and the hoarding/moving. Our landlord, via email v late, gave us 1month’s notice last night as he needs to nice back in. I have a 3bedroom house worth of stuff plus large aged. I feel physically sick at the prospect of funding somewhere and moving with so little time right at the beginning of the busiest term when ofsted is due!x

You look so pretty in this outfit! I love the dress too, it goes so well with your hair as well. I’m the opposite, I’ve quit my job and have spent all week in my comfy clothes whilst everyone else is back to work! xxx

Moving is a great opportunity to downsize and move more towards minimalism your life (I am the same as I you, I ‘acquire’ and hoard so much stuff. I am learning that having more things increases my anxiety levels, I am letting go this year. Selling and donating. I do not need all this stuff! My head will be clearer!).

Love that dress on you, so cute!! Good luck for the move, it will have happened by the time I am writing this xx
