Heart on My Sleeve

How nice has the weather been lately? I can’t get enough of the sunny days, it makes everything feel a bit more tolerable even when life has been out of control busy. The outfit in this post is one I wore on one of the cooler days and involved a bit if thinking on my part on how to make a cropped jumper work in a way I was comfortable. In the end I think I did alright…

Dress c/o Lavish Alice | Crochet Jumper c/o BritFash | Shoes: New Look | Bag c/o LYDC

I have SO much love for this Lavish Alice dress, which is now only £18 in the sale (I’ve linked direct to it above). It’s perfect for a chilled evening out, but I think with this crochet cropped jumper from BritFash, £10 bargain sale sandals from New Look and my new quirky Heart Bag from the folks at LYDC you get a perfect outfit for a weekend day out in town shopping or a lazy cafe lunch too.
I’ve been looking at cropped jumpers for a while and I really wasn’t sure how to make them work for me. I’m generally not a fan of layering as it makes me feel like the Michelin Woman. I gave this a try as the second the jumper arrived this outfit presented itself in my head and because all the pieces are so lightweight you get a really sleek, and non bulky finish. Winner. I love the contrast of the bright red bag against all the monochrome, even though the bag is a bit bolder and more quirky than I’d usually go for. I seem to have going through an experimenting phase at the moment, trying things I thought I never would suit or would feel comfortable wearing and it’s working. I’m happier with my out of work wardrobe…which just leaves me the continuing problem of more formal wear!
How would you style a crochet jumper? Can we all appreciate just how awesome this bag is too? Second favourite against my Bayswater for sure!

  4. I love unique prints so the dress is definitely my style. But it’s the perfect adorable bag I’m especially drawn to.

  5. I love those shoes, they are really nice,, plus the block heel makes them look super comfortable.
I really like the way you styled the jumper, I might style it with a contrasting bralet underneath and maybe a pair of light trouser – a little bit Madonna 🙂
