Hello Darling

Ben’s been staying with me a lot lately which is brilliant because I can use and abuse his willingness to help out with the blog and make him take my photos! He’s got the patience of a saint and real attention to detail, I must try not to take advantage lest he refuse to take any more of my random posing and dissatisfaction with how I look in many of the pictures.
Jacket: ASOS | Jumper c/o Boden | Trousers c/o Darling Clothes | Shoes c/o Cocorose London
I’d pretty much forgotten I owned this orange jacket from ASOS, also known as my “farmer jacket”, I bought it a couple of years ago and for some reason or other never really wore it. Now I’ve found it again I’m determined to get some use from it, I do love the colour and the elbow patch detailing. It seemed to work perfectly with the colours in this outfit, the jumper from Boden is one of nicest I own- it just sits perfectly and the colour goes with everything. It even has subtle metallic detailing to add some pizazz.
The trousers, sent to me by Darling Clothes last year are another piece that doesn’t get enough love and attention. They were too big for me for a while so I had put them away until they fitted, and now they do fit I never seem to know what to wear with them, especially on my feet. These amazing flats from Cocorose London are the perfect shoe for the job. My pair are the “Kew” style which comes in some gorgeous colour combinations. If you visit the website you’ll notice a huge array of foldable flats, some are quite affordable and others are on the pricey end of the scale but these are hands down THE comfiest flats I have ever owned and the quality is outstanding. They add a real touch of glamour to any outfit without stealing the show. I hadn’t ever considered folding shoes but I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of these on sale in the future! I envisage these becoming my staple work shoe as I still can’t wear heels for long.
This was an outfit I felt really good in at the time, yet another body confidence wobble occurred when I saw the photos uploaded, I’m not the biggest wearer of trousers and I just feel…strange about my shape right now, mostly born from the post-op inactivity I suppose.
Have you tried folding flats before? How about printed trousers? I’m determined to wear these more and maybe invest in another pair when I’m back at work as an office suitable alternative to my usual skirts and dresses.

Laura you look beautiful; slim, healthy and full of life. I don’t comment as much lately but always read. Your face just radiates at the moment, full of determination and a love for life that I’ve not seen in you before. You can tell this recovery is for keeps and you’ve committed to it full on. Keep breezing over those bumps in the road, it’s worth it.

    Laura

You look really well. Honestly there is nothing wrong with your body shape. Keep going streadily along and I am sure you will soon be fully recovered and back at work. There may be a few little wobbles on the way – we all get them from time to time – but be strong and you will get there.
I know how strange it is to wear trousers as I only started to wear them for the first time ever a few months ago – in my 30s! I now wish I wore trousers years ago as they are so comfy! I have 2 pairs of black work trousers and one more casual pair for wearing around the house.
My next step will probably be jeans but I am not sure about the image. I have not considered florals but may do so for the summer. You really do look great in yours though – nothing to worry about at all!
I started a blog on my trouser wearing experience – you may wish to have a look and compare notes!

    Take care

  3. These trousers are gorgeous, they look awesome on you Laura! I love that your boyfriend is styling you, I might try to make mine do that sometime but he’s not really interested and I’m a bit of a control freak when it comes to what I wear…Haha! 🙂

  4. I have just tried printed pants as you know hehe!

And you look so lovely in that last shot there is something different about you…?

Also would it be totally weird if I asked what your new blog layout is? I am trying to update my blog a bit and I really love the nav bar you have at the top 🙂

    • Hi lovely,

My boyfriend designed my blog layout so I’m not entirely sure what is what. I’m sure if there was anything specific you wanted to know he wouldn’t mind me asking him!

      xx

  5. Well I think you look lovely and healthy Laura! I wanted and needed to gain weight for CF and now I have I’m super happy about it although there’s still a stupid little voice in the back of my head that’s like ‘you looked better skinny!’ SO stupid! And I’ve never been through anything like you have so it must be 1000x harder getting used to your new body shape…but honestly, I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say you look gorgeous and happy xxx

  6. Hun you look fabulous, honestly you do.

Love the bright coat, perfect to make you feel happier. Bright colours always seem to make me smile. I have still not tried printed trousers, not sure they would suit me. But I won’t be sure until I try some. As for folding flats they are the perfect recovery shoe at the end of a night out.
