the comfort edition

Sometimes, after a manic Monday at work you just want to come home and chuck on an unflattering pair of jeans and some converse (Matalan Jeans, I love Matalan, I doooo, but these jeans weren’t my smartest purchase) and pose with Santa before a friend comes to pick you up and whisk you away to a cosy afternoon chilling on her sofa, drinking coffee and cuddling her mad but gorgeous dog. Comfort.

And sometimes, well sometimes comfort comes from the most suprising places. When my dear friend Jill got in touch, following this post on her (brilliant) blog, and you get in touch with a man called Edgars, you don’t really know what to expect…

What arrived was these…

Bright green, floral slippers from a shop named KusKus. Looking at them, they don’t look like slippers; as Jill put so wonderfully in her post…they are more Peter Pan than Keep You Warm,
but then I put them on…and oh.

Comfort.

Comfort, and a reminder not to judge a book by it’s cover. They might not be lined with wool or fleece. They might not be slippers as you know them…all I know, and care about is that I never want them to leave me feet.
I don’t know how Edgars has done it, but somehow these are the warmest, most comfortable slippers I have ever worn (and I have worn a lot) and with so many designs on the KusKus site, for children and adults, you can bet I’m regretting having already finished my Christmas shopping.
If you haven’t heard of KusKus before, you can thank me later. Especially with this cold weather…and even more especially with the homely atmosphere of Christmas just around the corner.
Sometimes you know exactly where to seek comfort; and sometimes you need to remain open minded.

    Dear Laura.

It’s just my opinion, but those jeans are adorable. I have a pair of Guess that are very similar. Ah, jeans….so simple, but such complicated relationships or emotions evoked.

I understand that this is a fashion/style blog, but you don’t have to be apologetic for trying out new things. If you’re feeling vulnerable, maybe it can suffice to say “Not my usual style, but this works for how I’m feeling right now,” or “I’m not sure if this works, but I’m wearing it!”. You don’t have to pardon the range in your pieces. That’s what makes style and fashion fun and dynamic.

    Please take care of yourself.

  8. Those jeans aren’t unflattering!! You’re lucky to be so leggy that everything looks good!

    xx

  9. Honey you look good in everything! Comfy is good and fits the bill when the weather is as chilly as it is.

As for those slippers, darn right never judge a book by its cover cause I bet they are soo snug. Mine look like bear feet and I don’t give a hoot what anyone thinks as I’m toasty with them on.

  10. Ah they’re so cute! Worth looking out for! I always buy new bootie-style slippers when I’m miserable or got completely soaked in the rain/snow!
