brightening the blues

Matalan dress, Betsey Johnson tights, Clarks shoes c/o Sarenza

I always think blue makes an apt outfit for a Monday, and the one just gone proved to live up to it’s reputation with general chaos and all round confusion at work! I love these tights but forgot just how much attention they attract until I was walking by a main road on route to work and a couple of cars slowed down as they passed.

I hope everyone enjoyed pancake day! I went, sadly, without due to lack of planning and general laziness! What was the best topping you tried? I’m wondering which reader set a new record of number of pancakes eaten?! And now we’re on the countdown to Easter (bring on the mini eggs and malteaser bunnies!) what have you given up for Lent, if anything?

Are you a student in Cardiff?

Sorry for such an area-centric post, but I really, really wanted to share this with anyone who lives in Cardiff so they can take part…

Oasis (side note, check out their AMAZING new denim drop) are working with an agency who have distributed posters throughout key student areas in Cardiff, These posters advertise the ‘Hunt For The Denim Dog’. The journey for students will be:

  • Students must scan a QR code or enter a unique URL which can be found on the posters.
  • They will enter a landing page asking them to sign up their details and submit
  • Once they submit, a second page will pop up telling them that they will receive their special reward shortly
  • They will then receive their voucher into their inbox. They can print this out and bring instore, or alternatively show this on their phone screen to the store staff to claim their prize.
  • They will not know what their voucher has won them until they bring this in to the store and are verbally told by the store staff.

I really want to hear from you if you find one of these posters and win an awesome prize, so get in touch!

Oh, and whilst your in-store? I’ll take a size 10 in the jeans above, thanks!

a nod to spring

Really old Primark dress, New Look tights, Noe at Sarenza shoes.

The second I saw these shoes on Sarenza, I had to own them…the colour, the shape, everything about them made me immediatley want to cast away the boots and focus on bright and pretty shoes. Teamed with an old faithful floral dress I finally felt hopeful that winter was on it’s way out.

How’s your week shaping up so far? Those at LFW, I hope you aren’t too exhausted (though have little sympathy if you are!) and the rest of us…tomorrow it’ll once again be the middle of the working week!

Are you starting to transition Spring in to your wardrobe? What trends are you most looking forward to embracing? For me, it has to be pastel. The five year old girl in me just can’t help it.

Sarenza A-Z: House of Harlow 1960

This week I’m focusing on the luxury brand side of Sarenza; Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 is entirely what you would expect from the queen of boho. This is a strictly wish list kind of post as the shoes aren’t everyday affordable, but it’s fun to have dreams and something to drool over right?

1. Kai; these remind me of Toms (of which I want a pair) with a luxury edge. Not the type of shoe I am usually attracted to but with my new found appreciation for jeans I could see me working something like this in to my every day attire…at £144.50 though, it sadly won’t be this pair.

2. Madison; encompass everything I used to hate in a shoe (but then, I used to be a fan of Uggs). I really like these, almost enough to think screw the £190+ price tag…but what on earth would one wear them with?

3. Leigh; I am in love. If these babies ever go in the sale I vow to make them mine.

4. Steffie; In the winter I love lace up boots, in summer I am all about this style sandal, I just can’t help myself. These cost £191.50 so won’t be featuring, even though broken in to cost-per-wear they’d be mere pennies. Do you have a shoe style that you automatically head for?

Has anyone else fallen for House of Harlow’s earthy charms? I never expected to love anything by a celebrity but Nicole Richie has proven exception to the rule.
