Winner

The Friday before last I found out I was the lucky winner of £100 to spend at MotelRocks.com…I spent a fair few days contemplating my order and whether I was brave enough to take the plunge and go for a pair of the infamous Jordan jeans (I was, and I did!). One of the other things that really drew me in was this Winner Tee, not only was it incredibly apt, I also fell for the slouchy fit and the subtle but cheeky slogan.

Worn with jeans by Vila (stolen from Mum, so comfy!) and those Dune sequin flats I featured on a Sarenza post a few weeks ago; they were further reduced in the sale so it was a no brainer that I HAD to own them!

This was worn for a Saturday spent mooching around the shops with Best.Friend. and a night in front of Take Me Out and Casualty. You should know by now, I’m not one for rock and roll weekends, and as much as part of me wishes I was at LFW, the other part is exhausted just thinking about it!

Jump from Paper

JumpFromPaper™ is a playful and innovative line of handbags created by Taipei-based design duo, Chay Su and Rika Lin.
One cozy afternoon, the two girls were chatting, when they got to sketching their dream designer handbag. A surprising idea popped up – “How amazing it would be if a two-dimensional hand-drawn illustration could come to life as a real bag!” They explored every possibility, rendering fantasy handbags in perspective, and giving birth to JumpFromPaper™.
Cartoon-like outlines and bright and cheerful colors add a brisk yet funky flavor. And despite the slim appearance, each JumpFromPaper™ bag has a roomy interior to accommodate personal belongings and even a laptop.
JumpFromPaper™ takes handbag design on a new journey, ready to twist people’s view!

As soon as I found out about JumpFromPaper I was captivated…the concept seemed so…new and so impossible to achieve. The photos on the website were so cartoon like that I wondered how they could possibly translate in to real life, so when the lovely (and I mean lovely) Michelle offered to send me a bag so I could see for myself I wasn’t sure what to expect…a print? A piece of plastic that hooked over my arm?

What arrived was a decidedly flat canvas bowling bag. Wonderfully bright, brilliantly made and just as promised, surprisingly roomy. You wouldn’t be able to cart your entire life around in there…but daily essentials, a laptop, some magazines…that’d be no problem. This isn’t a bag for the shy. It’s so out there that it’s going to attract some attention; especially if like me, you are a small town girl, but nevertheless, I am impressed that such an out there idea can be made real, and I think the designers, Rika and Chay have a promising future ahead.

For more information, stockists, an online shop and more visit the JumpFromPaper website and prepare to have your mind blown.

What do you think? Plain crazy or a work of genius? Despite thinking the former, you’ll now find me firmly behind this brand and excitedly awaiting more. Let me know if you’d like to see the bag in action.

got the time?

I remember a time when the Argos catalogue was the highlight of my childhood days. The arrival of the latest edition meant hours spent deciding what I wanted for Birthday/Christmas/Insert occasion here…and then, suddenly, that stopped, it fell out of favour in my fickle mind and I started to look further afield.

Well,
Shame on me. When Argos got in touch the other day and asked if I’d like to pick a watch to review and I got browsing…the magic returned. With their huge range of ladies watches to suit all tastes and budgets, all those memories came flooding back.

I picked this Firetrap watch, taken in by the delicate stud detailed wrist band and clean cut simplicity. I have the wrists of a small child so had to take it to my local watch repairer to get it adjusted, but it is otherwise perfect and hasn’t left my wrist since it’s arrival! Retailing at £64.99 I think it’s a bit of a bargain, nailing a popular trend yet staying classic.

If you haven’t taken a look at Argos lately, convinced like I was that it is somewhat dated…I suggest you take a closer look. It’s still an Aladdins cave of treasures and I bet you some of that childhood magic returns.

Go on,
have a browse and let me know what you find!

in the half light

H&M Bunny dress, New Look skirt, Tesco tights, Georgia Rose boots c/o Sarenza.

8am starts make it even less likely that I’ll catch decent enough light for semi-ok outfit photos…seriously Spring, hurry up and get here so I’m not prancing around in the half light, and looking over my shoulder as I walk to work. I think this is what I wore on Monday; it’s been a long week!

Yesterday I did my first proper session taking people’s blood at work, I admit, it’s a strange thing to love doing…but love it I do and it’s something I’ve wanted to do ever since I started my job.

What’s something you’d love to do? Strange or not? What’s stopping you from giving it a go?

Almost at the weekend folks. ALMOST!
