The Watch List

It’s been a heck of a long time since watches last featured on the blog so I thought I’d use a bit of my afternoon off to un-wind and do a little wish list of the wrist candy I’m coveting right now.

I’ve always had a bit of a thing for watches and even by my own admission I do own more than anyone can possibly need, but what I don’t own is that old blogger favourite- something in beautiful and classy rose gold. There’s always room for one more, right?

No watch wish list would be complete without at least one Michael Kors piece featuring- yep, I’m late to the game but I am totally on this bandwagon. I think I’m actually favouring the tortoise shell design strap to the solid rose gold as it breaks up the full on metal look, but there is something really enchanting about a solid chunk of the pink stuff.

Other notable brands for stunning wrist wear include Fossil- again I’m just loving the contrast of brown tones and the metal. I’ve own Fossil watches in the past and will do again for sure, they last forever, I only don’t have one at the moment because I’m an idiot and lost mine.

DKNY are another top brand who’s watches I’d admire, and although it’s breaking away from my rose gold theme I just loved this white and gold model for the warmer months, it’d compliment a sun tan perfectly (although my skin stubbornly remains pale whatever the weather).

A new discovery to me was Armarni Exchange. Obviously I HAD heard of them but I thought it was clothes and clothes alone that they do. I was amazed to find this beauty whilst I was having a browse and sipping coffee…it’s almost knocked the ubiquitous Michael Kors off the top spot on my list.

Which watch brands do you know and love? Have any of these caught your eye?

Summer Heatwave from Guess Watches

It’s been a while (and by a while I mean over a month) since I last featured Guess on the blog and I knew that in the absence of e-mails and new collections they must be working on something good. I wasn’t wrong; last week their new watch collection, Summer Heatwave hit my inbox and as is always the case with their collections I couldn’t resist sharing.
Perfect with a tan and equally as good for brightening up a less than sunny day (this is Britain after all!) the collection features warm gold faces with colour-pop silicone straps. Available in Hot Pink, Sea Green and Dazzling White these are just gorgeous. After purchasing my Mulberry bag I’m not in a position to buy anything right now, but if I was then the hot pink would be winging it’s way to my wrist as I type.
The RRP of these watches is £159.00 and you can buy online at Goldsmiths. Which one do you fancy?

A little British Watch Company Wishlist

Well, here is a website with a misleading (in a good way) name. British Watch Company doesn’t just sell watches as the name may suggest but a whole array of gorgeous jewellery and accessories too. With so much time off work I’ve had far too much time to look in to such things and create little wishlists. Or not so little wishlists. It’s an addiction, I admit I am totally hooked.

I just love the simplistic design of this Fossil Bangle (£46.99). If it was mine it would never leave my wrist, it’s one of those timeless pieces that go with just about every outfit (perhaps not my current standard of onesie and slippers by 3pm!)

Another classic from Fossil, £149.00. I’ve spent many a shopping trip having a browse in the Fossil shop in Cabot Circus, their bags are timeless and beautiful. This one is one of those “chuck everything in it but still look chic” type bags….the type I most need in my life!

I thought I probably ought to add a watch or two to my wishlist too, given the name of the website and it’s main focus…I got a bit sidetracked by everything else on offer! I love how feminine this Ted Baker watch is, the pink and rose gold just work beautifully. It’s one for the Christmas list though as it costs almost £80.

Last but by no means least I return to my favourite brand of all for watches and jewellery, Guess. I’m not usually one for watches with massive dial detail but this somehow looks subtle at the same time. Another for the “in my dreams” list at £148.00 but maybe one day eh?

I love being surprised by a website, you go in with an expectation based on name or reputation and then discover something else entirely. This is exactly what’s happened with British Watch Company and I’ll be saving my pennies for a little Guess splurge in the New Year.
Have you ever had this with a website? Do share your discoveries.

The Luxe List- The Watch Gallery

Hurrah! It’s Friday and what better way to celebrate than with a “totally out of my budget but I want it anyway” kind of wish list?
I’m forever craving items I can never afford and one of the items I always navigate towards (as I’ve mentioned before) is watches. This wish list comes courtesy of The Watch Gallery and you can blame me later if I’ve left you with serious cravings!
This Frederique Constance watch is classy and elegant- everything I look for in my dream watch. However with a price tag of £1.600 it will have to remain a dream!

This Gucci watch seems a bargain compared to the above price tag, coming in at £665. I love how edgy yet classical this is, it fits perfectly with my A/W style and I can’t see it ever dating. Doesn’t mean I can buy it though, dammit.

Another “will never date” classic is this beauty from the legendary Tag Heuer watches. It’s probably best not to mention the price but should I ever come in to millions this would be one of the first accessories I buy.

Last but not least is another Gucci beauty. Another relative bargain at £560 I just love this and don’t really see a need to explain why- the proof is in the picture!

Are you as much of a luxury watch fiend as I am? What would be your dream dial?

daisy chain dreaming: colour pop watches

Despite rarely remembering to put one on I have a bit of a watch obsession and can’t resist a cheeky browse every now and again. Looking for one to wear the other day I realised my collection was a little lacking in the colour department- mostly black and metals with a little bit of neutral c/o my Olivia Burton beauty. On a rare afternoon off of work I sat down and had a flick through The Branded Watch Shop website and came across a huge selection of colour pop watches for all budgets. The above collage only really skims the surface of my findings, it was hard to narrow anything down enough to share on the blog, I could have quite easily just posted the website link and had done with it!
The thing I really loved about the website was that you could search by brand. I’m not a brand snob at all but I am a little bit OCD and like to keep things neatly separate when I’m shopping especially when it’s an area I’m not entirely familiar with. The first watch I fell for was the raspberry pink DKNY number at the top left hand side of this post; I already own one DKNY watch and can confirm happily that you get what you pay for (which is often the case with branded watches I’ve found). Next up on the list are a few brands I’ve not bought from watch-wise before- Juicy Couture (top right), Toy Watch (middle left) and Paul’s Boutique (middle right). I’d be really interested in hearing from anyone who has owned wrist-wear by these brands before as I may be tempted to buy one of these…
Last but not least is the yellow number from Firetrap, at only £17.50 (and also available in hot pink and a bright orange) this is the budget option and potentially a sneaky pay day treat to myself. I have one Firetrap watch, a silver studded number and it’s put up with a lot of not so tender loving care and is still going strong.
Do you have an obsession with time pieces? I have to say my mobile has made me lazy when it comes to wearing one but I am determined to change that. Tell me about your favourite watch or which one/s you are currently coveting.
