the lady

This skirt has magical properties, I swear; the second I put it on I feel dainty and ladylike…thank you F&F at Tesco for that little miracle.
My rationale for wearing this yesterday was dual edged. I hadn’t worn it for ages so I wanted to give it an airing…but also the heavy fabric of the skirt meant no embarrassing knicker flashing when I ventured out in the barbaric weather conditions. Don’t ever let it be said that fashion isn’t practical!

Worn with NewLook sparkly jumper, Superdrug tights and YULL shoes.

Venturing out in to the remnants of the sales today. I was quite happy to let them pass me by really; I needed nothing yet would un-doubtedly waste money on stuff I thought I couldn’t live with out. Today will be about snapping up any last minute bargains (hello further reductions) and generally getting a feel for what’s coming out in the next few months.

How do you dress for high winds and torrential rain?
Best sales bargain?
What are you ready to embrace for S/S?

  1. oh love love love this outfit! The long (magical!) skirt and sparkly jumper were made for each other.

  2. Love the jumper πŸ™‚ My best sales bargain has been my leopard shoes that I wanted from toppers for less than half price!

  6. Skirts like this are lovely, you can’t help but feel like a lady in them! I often find myself spinning around in them to make them go all floaty – but I’m really sad like that! I love the shoes btw!
    xx

  7. Again another cute outfit.

For pants, windy, unpredictable weather I do stand by the theory that leggings & peg leg trousers cannot be beaten for the lack of embarressment or discomfort when the wind blows them over, around, to the side etc. Usually with an abundance of various layered pieces for warm on the top & to keep my bum covered! xxx

  8. I love ‘swishy’ skirts like that! I got a black one in the sales, I just need to steal your shoes to go with it!

  9. Those shoes are gorgeous! I’m jealous

  13. Our best sale stuff were Christmas decorations and bedding – not very fun really!

  14. The skirt is adorable! Loving it. And well for rainy days, since I usually have to walk around a lot and take the train, I try to dress in boots and as comfy and as warm as I can.

  15. You look gorgeous Laura! That skirt is stunning. I have a Primark one with houses on that my house-mates love. I’m looking forward to wearing lighter clothes come the warmer months. xxx

  16. How funny you should say this! I’ve laid out skirts for school each morning this week and then thought better because of the wind! However today, I wore big cullottes so I had the effect of a skirt with the same no-knicker flashing effect!
I love this skirt of yours! I remember loving it the first time I saw it on the blog and went to look at the Tescos website at it! You do look lovely and ladylike in it, especially with the vibrant court shoes!
