Duo Boots wishlist

Idaho red ankle boot- available in three shoe widths

Novello animal ankle boots- available in three shoe widths

Lakota in Chesnut- available in 10 calf sizes

Fontaine shoe- available in three shoe widths

I’ve heard people rave about DUO for ages now but hadn’t ever really taken a proper look for myself. I naively assumed that it was targeted towards the “older lady” and the range would be limited, but finally biting the bullet and having a proper browse I was amazed to see they have not only a vast selection of ladies boots, but also actual shoes and handbags too.

What makes DUO stand out from the crowd is that they are designed to fit feet and calfs of all shapes and sizes. I myself have pretty wide feet and have had to size up in the past but with DUO you can select one of three foot widths to ensure a more comfortable and supportive fit without compromising on style. If it’s tall boots you’re after but don’t have an “average” calf width then I do recommend that you stop by here; with boots available in up to 21 different calf sizes I defy you not to find your perfect fit!

Price wise, I’ll admit they aren’t the cheapest out there, but I am a firm believer that with boots especially you get what you pay for, and for something tailored to fit YOU, made from real leather I think it’s a worth investment. Next time I’m in need of a new winter boot or work shoe DUO will be my first port of call. With free UK delivery, free returns and 10% off your first order I can see little reason not to.

Have you ever bought from DUO? I’d love to know people’s experiences.

golden glamorous

Skirt c/o Glamorous, Asda jumper, Matalan flats.

Considering how much I love this skirt I am surprised I failed to get more photos. I wore it Sunday to the #SWBXmas party at the wonderful Birdcage in Bristol yet totally forgot to get my camera out at the event. To be fair I was too busy chatting away to blogger buddies and meeting new ones…the crutches totally worked to my advantage here as I was waited on hand and foot (special shout-out to SJ for the waitress service!)
I always get really nervous before blogger events but there is never any need as everyone is so friendly, there are still plenty of people I didn’t get a chance to speak to, but I hope to in the future.

Super brief post as it’s my early morning at work today and I am as ever, rushing. One day I’ll get organised and schedule posts but right now I’m writing and drinking coffee at the same time…I’ll be glad of a week off from the early next week, I anticipate being in a Christmas fuelled food coma, so excited to stuff my face with festive food this year with the excuse of the final push to goal weight.

…damn, I’m off to work with a fancy for a gingerbread man now.

How’s your week going? Is it a manic run up? Work is certainly utterly manic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Horsing Around

Jumper c/o Ax Paris, ASOS shorts, Blink boots c/o Sarenza.

How cute is this jumper? I can’t resist anything with an animal on it and this one from Ax Paris jumped out at me from between the party dresses. I love that it’s a slouchy jumper with more fitted sleeves, it’s also REALLY soft which is a complete winner.

I’m really excited to be able to wear these ASOS shorts again. They have been too big for ages, but now they are perfect again and I will probably live in them.

I think this outfit was from Saturday which was mainly spent recovering from Friday. We finally got our Christmas tree up and I have been loving re-discovering favourite ornaments…

Hello Kitty from BHS
Owl from Sainsburys (set of three)
Cat from Past Times

Tell me about your favourite ever decoration…

Freak Factory

Mere days away from Christmas it feels somewhat wrong to be writing about a Spring/Summer collection, but I think you’ll agree this launch from Freak Factory, a fairly new brand launched in 2010 is well worth sharing. I was contacted by the brand following my post on Kristina Goes West a few weeks ago as they are one of the brands stocked by the store. I had been admiring their garments on the website so was all too happy to take a little look at the lookbook and share my favourites with you.

The latest Freak Factory Spring / Summer 2013 collection is dedicated to sailors, love and pop culture.

It features Popeye the sailor, who is madly in love with Venus. Not the innocent goddess Venus we know from Botticelli paintings, but her dark, erotic side – born from the deepest depths of the ocean.

This duality in the collection is embodied by carefully selected materials. Nautical, white and blue stripes here symbolise the playfulness of Popeye, which contrast with the black, rough terry cloth and silicon coated fabrics of the emotionally dark and uncontrollable Venus.

By combining light and heavy, bright and dark, natural and treated materials to produce next season’s garments, the label’s Head Designer Jeva Bartuseviciute manages to combine the love between these two opposite powers.

Using Freak Factory’s signature patterns from pop culture and Japanese wood-cut, Jeva interprets the essence of feminity – cheerful and sophisticated on the outside and emotional and often dark inside. Emancipated and deadly attractive she fosters her inner femme fatale, using it as a source for inspiration, strength and an uncontrolled passion for life.

I really love the contrast in this collection, of the colours and textures and it’s really interesting to know the story behind the collection. To find out more check out the Freak Factory website. I’m seriously coveting the second to last dress and the skirt in the last photo.

Sarenza Shoe of the Week

It’s party season and therefore totally justified to lust after all things sparkly, and they don’t get much sparklier than the Violetha by London Rebel shoe from Sarenza. Priced at £59.70, if I could walk in these right now they would probably be mine…although they are a proper statement shoe the black sequins mean they have potential to go with just about every party outfit which makes a new pair of shoes totally justified!

What do you think?
