In the Navy

I’m known as “the cardigan lady” to many people who see me on a daily basis; I’m rarely spotted without one on my person, being a chilly being by nature I find them essential and more comfortable to wear than blazers or a jumper. I’ve been on the lookout for a navy blue one to add to my collection for a while now without much luck, I suppose it’s the wrong time of year, that and most of the ones in the shops are so either paper thin or cropped. The lovely people at Damart very kindly sent me a parcel of goodies from their new season collection then other week and in among it was THE navy blue cardigan I’ve been looking for (along with some other bits that will feature on the blog soon).

Cardigan c/o Damart | Dress c/o Laura Ashley | Boots: Jeffrey Campbell

The combination of the cardigan, plus this navy and orange striped dress that Laura Ashley sent me last year made for the perfect office wear (we have quite a relaxed dress code). I added these much neglected orange boots and some rose gold jewellery from Lola & Grace to finish the look.
I always struggle when it comes to dressing for work, I never used to but I seem to have outgrown all of my smarter clothes and seemingly never got round to replacing them. I do own a few smart pieces but I never know how to style them to make them work friendly, I do a lot more clinical work now which involves uniform so I haven’t spent much time/effort on what to wear on office days! Suddenly everything feels too short, and I really don’t get on well with pencil skirts, which tend to be a better length as they are super un-flattering on me! Time to hit up H&M and Primark I think!
Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have a great weekend planned!

Girl in Black

Another set of photos taken by Ben; these are from last Friday and show what I wore for work in the morning and then on to a hospital appointment (verdict- my back is fixed!) and onwards in to town for some dinner and to watch a football match in Walkabout. I won’t lie, I’m super struggling with how my body is looking right now and these photos aren’t sitting easy with me, but I refuse to give up on blogging outfit photos just because I don’t especially like what I see.
Dress: c/o ASOS | Tights: I honestly can’t remember! | Boots: Tamaris via Sarenza
The lovely people at ASOS sent me this dress along with a few other goodies from their Tall range. Designed for people 5ft9 (my height) and above this range is perfectly proportioned, so no more exposing knickers or waistlines sitting in odd places. This dress is a beauty, I got so many compliements when I wore it. The neckline is perfect, and doesn’t gape, the waist sits where it should and the length makes it a perfect addition to my workwear staples. I accessorised with a rose gold necklace from Lola & Grace, I can’t get enough of their jewellery and I’m slowly building up quite a collection
I haven’t worn this boots much and I’m not really sure why other than they are suede and the weather has been so wet. I love the gold detailing on them and the fact I can be on my feet all day and not get a single blister or foot ache. Expect to see a lot more of these from now on!
I can’t wait to show off more pieces from the ASOS tall range, I have two more to style up so I’m quite certain they will be on the blog soon. I’m a bit behind in getting outfit photos so sorry for the lack of outfit posts but being back at work and the inclement weather mean it’s not as easy as it was before!
Tall girls, which stores do it best? From what I’ve tried and for the sheer amount available right now I’m saying good old Asos!

Hello Valentine: Lola & Grace

Lola & Grace have fast become one of my favourite brands for jewellery since discovering them via twitter. Their 2014 Valentines collection is an absolute showstopper and I couldn’t resist sharing it with  you in case you wanted to drop some hints or treat yourself (after all, we should love and spoil ourselves).
The collection will be available from Lola & Grace stores and online
I suggest leaving this page open on your browser for your true love to see! I own a couple of pieces from Lola & Grace and they truly are stunning, even the simpler designs make a statement and if I wasn’t on a self imposed shopping ban until April I’d be ordering the Crystal Heart Pendant for myself.

Daisy Chain Dreaming: Daisy Lace & Studs from Lola&Grace

How stunning is this jewellery from quirky brand Lola&Grace? It takes a certain something to make me want to post about something on the blog; if I shared every press release I recieved this blog would soon lose focus; and although my posts are eclectic, they are all things I truly adore. Jewellery is a weak point for me…I’m like a magpie, attracted to anything that shines. Traditionally I’ve always opted for more delicate pieces, especially when it comes to neck adornment, but I would happily wear each and every one of these pieces, and I suspect one or two will feature highly on my Birthday wish-list.

And how much for these wonderful creations?
Well, I was shocked…

From top to bottom:

Daisy lace necklace – £23.90
Daisy lace cuff – £29.90
Daisy lace earrings – £15.90
Spiral rebound necklace – £31.90
Spiral rebound ring – £23.90
Spiral rebound earrings – £23.90
Spiral rebound bracelet – £21.90
Gem petals necklace – £39.90

Gem petals ring – £31.90

Impressive!

If you had to narrow it down, which piece would you pick? I’m erring toward the Gem Petals Necklace (and perhaps the ring!)
