Happy Easter!

Have a fabulous chocolate filled day whatever you get up to. Mine will be spent with my Parents, Ben, Grandad & Uncle eating a roast dinner followed by plenty of chocolate. I might roll myself off the sofa and off for a walk if I can summon up the motivation but it looks somewhat unlikely!

Lip Colour from Burt’s Bees

Any long time reader of my blog will have seen Burt’s Bees get frequent mentions and rave reviews. I can’t get enough of their fabulous lip products so when I was sent samples of their new Lip Colour products I was pretty excited!
I was sent three products from the range of Lip Colour products- Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus, Lip Shine in Whisper and Lip Gloss in nearly dusk. Already a huge fan of the un-tinted lip balms I was eager to give the coloured version a go, Hibiscus is a lovely pinky colour with quite orange undertones to it making it perfect for this time of year. You get a sheer, buildable colour that protects your lips in the same way as the non tinted version, no compromises here! I’ve been wearing this on a daily basis as a more subtle shade for work, rather than my favoured full on weekend orange!
I’m not much of a lip gloss wearer so I wasn’t sure how well these would hold up against my expectations. I love the look of a glossy lip but can’t stand stickiness at all (I hate certain textures in general and sticky is one of them!) so it was to my delight that I found both the Lip Shine and Lip Gloss both very un-sticky indeed. The Lip Shine in whisper was such a pale pink that it was almost clear and looked lovely layered over the Lip Balm as well as on it’s own/with some of my other lip products. The colour lip gloss was again a super subtle shade but provided the perfect touch of pinky colour and shine for a toned down and natural look.
In general I’m quite fickle with my lip products and ditch them after one or two uses in favour of something else (only to repeat the cycle days later). I’ve owned these products for just over two weeks now and have used each of them pretty much on a daily basis, which is something that has only happened with one or two other products in the past. I know a lot of you blogger beauties love yourself a bit of Burt’s Bees so I won’t hesitate in telling you to get hold of at least one of these wonders in at least one of the shades. To find your perfect shades you can visit the Lip Shade Finder on the website and get discovering!
Price wise, the Tinted Lip Balm retails at £5.99, the Lip Shine is £6.99 and the Lip Gloss is £8.99 so pretty standard high street prices! I literally only own one other Lip Gloss so you can guess what I’ll be stocking up on when I get paid! According to the Shade Finder I need to own Sweet Sunset, so there’s my starting point!
Tried any of these? Let me know what you think and what shades you’d recommend below. Not tried them? Let me know if you do and how you get on.

Neon Jungle

Well there, Happy Good Friday! Two extra days off work this weekend? I’m so loving it, here’s hoping the sun shines and every one has a good time!
Dress: Asda | Boots: Tamaris at Sarenza
This dress was such an impulse by from Asda George when having a browse round one Saturday with a friend. I wasn’t meant to be buying anything but I couldn’t leave this garish print behind, especially when it cost me all of £4. I am yet to quite figure out what the animal print is- it could be a leopard as easily as it could be a dalmatian or anything else you want it to be but that doesn’t stop me loving it. It’s not even my usual size, but not wanting to miss out of something obsurd I sized up and it’s worked in my favour and has become a staple for work recently.
I’m really loving these boots right now having ignored them for months, the gold detail and pointy toe are different to anything else I own and they are just so comfortable it’s like walking on clouds all day. I’ll be glad when I can spend an entire day in heels again but I won’t be neglecting these babies any more.
Most random item of clothing you’ve bought lately? What are your plans for the Easter weekend?

Metallic Madness at Mint Velvet

When it comes to accessories I’m not an obsessive, I tend to overlook new collections in favour of dresses or shoes, but sometimes you can’t help but take notice and that’s exactly what happened when I got an e-mail introducing a gorgeous range of metallic pieces from Mint Velvet.
Mint Velvet is a website that is reserved strictly for window shopping. I own a couple of pieces and can confirm they are well worth the price tag, but sadly that price tag is a bit out of my current budget. Accessories however, well those can be a little more justified in my eyes- I don’t own many and therefore it’s totally ok to collect a few more eh?
Ok, so these aren’t the cheapest accessories on the block but they are both beautiful and functional and going on previous quality from Mint Velvet they will last a heck of a lot longer than ones that cost a tenth of the price, probably so much so that their cost per use will actually be cheaper! How’s the for justification?
I’m especially loving the makeup bag and oversized purse, I can think of a million and one uses for both of them and just love how luxe they look without being OTT.
Are you an accessories lover? Do you prefer to splurge or save? I used to be a save/buy the cheapest kind of girl but now I’d rather own less and invest in quality.

Fit for a Princess

It’s been a while since I last got all dressed up for a blog post (well, a few weeks) and I had forgotten how much fun it is. Apologies for the odd lighting issues in the photos, Ben has been busy all week and with work I don’t get much chance to make the best of the good lighting each day. Still, hopefully the prettiness of the dress means I’ll be forgiven!
Dress c/o Chi Chi | Shoes: Topshop | Necklace: Daisy London
You can rely on Chi Chi to provide a stunner of a dress, I’ve lost count of how many I’ve featured on the blog over the last year or so but not one of them has let me down or left me feeling anything other than fabulous. This dress is a beauty, so foofy (yes, that is a word) and twirly, a bit like those princess costumes you get in a kid’s playing up box. I’m shortlisting this to wear to a wedding this summer, although perhaps it is more bridesmaid that guest attire, what do you think?
These topshop shoes get yet another airing, they are £12 well spent I can tell you! Normally shoes like this kill my feet for the first few wears but these are just comfort from the word go and I can walk in the heel for hours. The necklace I’m wearing here was a gift for my birthday last year and one of my favourite pieces of jewellery…I’m a sucker for anything with a Daisy on it!
Fellow Chi Chi fans, what are you loving right now? What are your go-to feel good outfits? For me it has to be a stunning dress.
