Tropicana

It would seem I’m on a roll this Summer with finding jumpsuits that actually fit both my torso and my legs. This pleases me greatly as I’ve become quite the fan of wearing an all-in-one outfit, it helps my indecisive nature perfectly and the proportions of the top and bottom halves of the outfit are automatically just right.

Jumpsuit c/o Fashion Union | Sandals: Asda | Watch c/o Guess Jewellery | Necklace: Sushilla Jewellery

I would usually choose something baggier on the leg in anything other than jeans as I don’t like to draw attention to my pins. The legs on this jumpsuit are super flattering though and I just can’t get enough of the tropical floral print and bright blue colour.
The colours in this jumpsuit lend themselves perfectly to gold, brown and bright accessories so it didn’t take too much thought to pop on my neon and brown sandals from Asda, gorgeously bright pink and gold watch from Guess and my favourite gemstone necklace from Sushilla Jewellery. I think the whole look paired together pretty well and I actually wore this outfit for a hen night dinner at the weekend when I wanted something cool and not too casual.
Fashion Union have some incredible pieces on their website right now including the most perfect dolphin print co-ord which might actually make me give that trend a try!
I hope everyone had a brilliantly sunny weekend, I just cannot get enough of this weather.

Bristol Shwopping Challenge with M&S

Bristol ladies (and gents), get yourselves down to one of the city’s five Marks and Spencer stores to take part in the “Shwopping Challenge” as part of Bristol’s Green Week.
M&S is looking to collect 10,000 unwanted items of clothing, shoes or other garments for Oxfam over the course of Friday and Saturday – all of which will be donated to the charity to be sold in its shops, re-used or recycled to help raise vital funds for its poverty alleviation work.
Anyone that takes part in the Big Bristol Shwop in any of M&S’s five Bristol stores on Friday or Saturday (Broadmead, Cribbs, Longwell Green, Avonmead and Yate) will also be rewarded with a £5 voucher.
The photos are from the launch of the event which saw Bristol Mayor George Ferguson shwop a pair of his famous red trousers!
I always try to donate clothes I no longer want or wear so can really get behind this campaign. I’m hoping to find time to pop along to the Broadmead store later armed with a bag of goods to donate! Let me know if you pop along…what do you do with things you no longer have a use for?

The Secret Garden

When the sun comes out one of my favourite places to be is my Grandad’s garden. I find it such a peaceful place, not to mention beautiful so it was really about time I got some outfit photos taken there!

Dress: Primark | Bralet: New Look | Shoes c/o IKRUSH | Watch c/o Guess

How many times have we seen this £5 Primark dress on the blog in the last few months? Honestly it must be one of my most worn purchases and I wish I had a back up. It’s probably a bit short for me to get away with bare legged but I didn’t really care as it meant I could wear these cute new sandals from IKRUSH and get some sun on my skin (after a layer of factor 30 of course!)
IKRUSH is another of those online stores that I’ve only just come across but has made a great impression. Delivery is fast and free and there are some really affordable and on trend pieces available. I can see further orders being placed in the near future, if I happen to come in to some money.
These photos really failed to capture just how vast Grandad’s garden is. The area I am stood in the first few photos is right at the back of the garden and also has two large flower beds filled with various fruit and vegetable plants. There is also a large lawn, back with the platform I’m stood on in the last photo, which has some wild trees and bushes behind it. Backing on to the bungalow itself is a rather sizeable patio and everything is filled with lovingly tended plants and is a really calming place to be. I’m hoping for some more lazy weekend days chilling out there, a cup of mint tea made with mint from the garden in my hand and a book by my side.
Do you have a calm and peaceful place to go to? I have several but Grandad’s garden is my haven.

Creative Spaces

As regular blog readers will know, my boyfriend Ben is a musician. We’re living together with my parents at the moment whilst we get ourselves sorted to get a place of our own, and being in someone else’s home makes it difficult to keep up with a somewhat noisy (even if it is lovely noise) hobby! A couple of month’s ago now Ben and his best friend found a little studio space in Bristol, cheap…but in dire need of renovating. Ben decided to take charge and last weekend I went off to see the finished product, having been involved a little during the process I was desperate to see how it had all turned out. I used the opportunity to get some outfit photos too, making the most both the creative and calming interior as well as the urban exterior setting.

Dress: Jolie Moi | Camera Bag: New Look | Sandals: H&M | Sunglasses: Rayban

This outfit consists of some real favourite pieces; I was sent the dress a couple of years ago now and I always get compliments when I wear it. The minty green colour is very “now” and the sail boat print adds a nautical edge, which pairs perfectly with my new navy and cream striped camera bag. I’ve been after one of these ever since getting my camera and couldn’t find one I liked- most were just so bulky! This one was a bargain at £12.99 from New Look (I’ve linked it above) and also comes in a sweet floral print too. It’s lightweight but protective and fits my Canon 1100D perfectly.
The sandals I’m wearing are one of the only flat pairs I own that don’t butcher my feet, bought from H&M three summers ago for £14.99 they really don’t owe me any favours and yet they still keep on going! These photos were taken when the hot weather first started, and shortly after this when we were on the way to a 6 year olds birthday party (armed with a remote control car or two) we got utterly drenched in a sudden downpour. Oh England.
Let me know if you’d like to see some real before and after shots of the studio, it’s had quite the makeover I can tell you! I has such a calm and creative atmosphere and I shall be taking my laptop and blogging from there sometimes as it’s also located in one of my favourite parts of the city. Ben will be teaching guitar lessons from there too, so if anyone fancies learning then give us a shout!
