Gimme Sugar

I’m quite amazed that I haven’t featured Sugarhill Boutique on the blog before. I’ve loved the brand for ages now and each season I find myself swooning over their gorgeous, whimsical designs. I’m also yet to own a piece by them, and I’m forever envious of the bloggers I see who look frankly stunning in their purchases. One day I’ll take the plunge…When I’m not on sick leave, when I’m not obsessively controlling over my finances (working on it!), when I feel I deserve it.

Anyway, I digress; Sugarhill’s latest drop of dresses just had to be featured. Every single one of the designs made me think “I want that” and “I can see me wearing that”. Without hesitation I’ll say my favourite piece is the Bike Stripe Smock Dress I’ve had a strange affection for bicycles since meeting my boyfriend, an avid cyclist and I hope to be back on my bike before too long- when I was younger I was barely off it!

I’m a sucker for animal prints and I think the duckies dress is adorable and the “picture perfect” camera print one will appeal to many a blogger. Guitars may not be the obvious choice for an item of clothing but I love this dress too and it is the second item on my longer than ever Sugarhill Boutique wishlist.

Folks who own some Sugarhill goodness, talk to me of fit and length. Which designs are your favourites?

Win a YEARS WORTH of Tea with Bistro TeaPods

I love hosting giveaways, I guess it’s the knowing that you’ve made the winner’s day at the end of it that makes it so special, although most of the time I find myself wanting to give everyone a prize.
This might just be the most epic giveaway I’ve done though- how do you fancy winning yourself an entire year’s worth of Bistro TeaPods?
I was sent some of these to try out for myself and I’m now trying to work out a way to get a year’s worth myself- these things are GOOD

There are several varities of tea available- from Earl Grey to green tea with mint (my favourite). The TeaPod is a novel concept and much easier than a messy old teabag. These are perfect for at work especially, you just pop a TeaPod in a mug (I like to use a glass one and watch it) add boiling water then leave it to stand and infuse, using the pod to stir. Brilliance.
The winner will recieve 12 boxes of 32 TeaPods (worth £175.20), so enough to last you a year with some spare! I’m already jealous of the winner and I don’t know who it is yet.
To enter you need to pop along to the competition page on Bistro TeaPods website HERE and answer the simple question. This giveaway is being hosted alongside five other awesome bloggers and the winner will be selected by Tufty the Cocker Spaniel- take a look at the competition page, what a cutie!
The competition runs until 30th April so you have plenty of time, I hope loads of my readers enter, I’d love one of you to be the winner! You must have a UK postcode to enter.
If you fancy trying TeaPods for yourself you can get a 15% discount by clicking here. Once again, the competition page is HERE
Good luck, let me know if you’ve entered. Also, tell me…what’s your favourite brew?
(stay tuned for another giveaway soon)

Sarenza Sunday- white’s alright

Sales are over and the Spring/Summer collections are arriving thick and fast at Sarenza, obviously with so much time on my hands it would have been downright rude not to have had a good browse through and start introducing my top shoe from what’s arrived this week…
These might not be the most obvious choice for me but the D New Club A by Geox caught my attention within seconds. Not only are they hi-tops, which I love but the gorgeous milky colour is just perfect for the new season. I think these will be brilliantly versatile- team with jeans, a denim pinafore dress, floral skater skirt or pretty prom dress just for starters. At £76.50 they aren’t unobtainable either and with their luxe quilted outer and metallic toe cap they look really quite designer.
All we need now is some sunshine- giant puddles and muddy paths do not go hand in hand with these beauties!
Have any new season shoes caught your eye yet?

My Valentine

Just thought I’d share my Valentine’s present from Ben. His guitar is made in Bristol by Tom Waghorn of Waghorn Guitars (gotta rep a craftsman from my home city!) Enjoy.

Pretty in Pink with Matalan

Trust me when I say pink is going to be everywhere for Spring/Summer. The girly girl in me is delighted about this and I want to break free of the monochrome and fill my wardrobe with all things rose tinted. I can’t actually afford to do this, in reality, but looking at the new arrivals to Matalan it looks like I might be able to afford a few key pieces.
I love this pale pink graphic blouse, £12. It’s a lovely piece that could be worn for work and play. I’m thinking it’d look pretty cool worn under a denim pinafore dress. Worn with a black pencil skirt and some killer heels it’d be a fierce addition to the workplace as well.
The bomber jacket has been on my radar since Matalan first tweeted about it. I have a voucher burning a hole in my pocket and this is the intended target. It costs £18 and I will live in it all spring. My lightweight jacket from the last couple of years has just about had it’s day so this will be a timely replacement. Absolutely love it.
I’m not usually one for high necks but this top, £10 is almost swaying me. I’m thinking it could be slung on with some slim fit or boyfriend jeans (I’ve turned against skinnies at the moment) or dressed up with some statement accessories for an evening out.
I’ve also seen a preview of THE most gorgeous gingham skirt which I don’t yet have an image for. As soon as I’m back earning after my sick leave, at the bargain price of £16 it will also be mine.
You can really rely on Matalan for on trend, affordable pieces these days. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- this shop has really upped their game!
What trends are you most looking forward to?
