More Minimalism with EverSwiss*

EverSwiss watch gifted by watchshop.com

It’s been a while since a new watch made it’s way in to my collection, and much like my taste in jewellery, I have found my wrist wear wish list now features chic and minimal pieces rather than bold statement design.

Enter this beautiful piece of design by EverSwiss, courtesy of watchshop.com who stock the full range. The small crystals embedded in the mother of pearl dial of this watch add just enough pizzaz whilst remaining effortlessly chic (in direct contrast to it’s owner) and it’s mesh stainless steel casing is fully adjustable to fit even my child-like wrists.

Despite being around since 1960 EverSwiss are a new to me brand, and one I am absolutely loving. The quality of this piece is outstanding and it’s clear that they know what they’re doing when it comes to creating classic styles with fashionable design.

I think this is definitely a sign I am growing up, although I’m yet to progress past the stage of wanting outrageously sparkly shoes for my wedding….one day!

The Bristol Bag*

[post contains gifted item]
Having lived (admittedly just outside) in Bristol for almost 32 years, I have a lot of love for my buzzing, creative and quirky city. I also love supporting both local and less local small business, so when I was contacted about Paper Bag Co, a company based in Wiltshire who specialise in eco friendly bags, who in collaboration with Overt Design in Bradford-on-Avon have released a range of local, eco-friendly bags I was keen to get on board.

Dress: Monki at ASOS (bargain!) | Tee: Topshop | Bag gifted

A quick diversion away from the bag to say what a bargain this dress was- £8 in the ASOS sale and still available in many sizes. I’d had my eye on this for full price so happily broke my shopping ban to make the purchase!

Back to the bag though, how stunning is that design? It’s the most perfect size for daily use. I can carry all of my work paraphernalia around with me, and it holds a heck of a lot of shopping- I’ve not purchased a single plastic bag on my weekend grocery shops since it arrived which is nothing short of a miracle.

I’ve had so many comments about this bag There are several bags in the range of local designs; Bath, Bristol, Frome, Bradford-on-Avon and Trowbridge.

If you want to buy a bag you can contact Paper Bag Co through their website or give them a call on 01373 825 834.

If you could have your favourite town or city printed on to a bag where would you pick?

Hair Secretz Diamond Brush

So Laura, how often do you brush your hair?

Shamefully it took moving house to realise I didn’t own a hairbrush, it’s that infrequent! I appear to be one of the lucky few who can get away without it. Partly because my hair is often curled, but when I do wear it straight it just doesn’t seem to knot and I don’t get the dreaded bed head.

Still, every so often I do feel the urge to smarten up my act and stop using my fingers to style my hair each morning so I was quite excited to be sent the prettiest hairbrush I’ve ever seen from UK brand Hair Secretz

Featuring a sparkling Swarvoski crystal, the diamond brush is ready and waiting to take pride of place on your dressing table, or in your handbag.

Ergonomically designed to fit in to the palm of your hand (for maximum control), it also features three different length bristles so ensure it glides through even the most tangled of tresses.

Another winning feature of this brush is that the bristles can be lifted to reveal a diamond shaped mirror, ideal for styling on the go. The pod created by this design is conveniently the perfect place to stash hair ties or grips meaning no more scrabbling around to find one at the last minute; in my case they have mostly been stolen and chewed beyond all recognition by Pablo so this is just perfect.

The brush comes in a choice of three colour combinations: red/black, white/pink or blue/pink and costs £12.99

I’m delighted to have such a winning product in my possession, it delivers on both style and substance and would also make for a lovely gift.

Available on the Hair Secretz website, which also offers free UK delivery on all orders!

Product sent to me free of charge for blog consideration, I was under no obligation to write this post and all opinions expressed are my own.

Zadig & Voltaire at WatchShop.Com

My obsession with watches is well documented on this blog – I might only be able to wear one at a time, but I can never resist adding a new time piece to my collection, and this is further fuelled by a great working relationship with a leading watch retailer. I was recently sent a stunning new piece by Zadig & Voltaire, they have long been a brand I have admired so the news they are now stocked at WatchShop.com was both welcome and dangerous.

Watch c/o Zadig & Voltaire at WatchShop.com | Ring c/o Karl Lagerfeld at WatchShop.com

WatchShop.com also very kindly sent me the Karl Lagerfeld watch of my dreams, which I recently featured in a wish list post so right now I feel like the luckiest, and best accessorised girl around. The ring is everything I hoped it would be, and more…and the watch, well despite owning countless styles at this point, all of which I love, this one has 100% reached it’s way to the top spot and hasn’t left my wrist since it’s arrival. The attention to detail in this watch is incredible and it just looks so classy, and yet a little bit badass too.

I’ve got an outfit post coming later this week showing just one of the ways in which I’ve been wearing these pieces, and also gives a glimpse of what I wear during my 9-5 life.

In the meantime, let me know which watches you are most coveting right now, and which designers just seem to get it right every damn time.

Gift Guides: The personal touch with Martha Jackson jewellery

I love to give gifts with a personal touch, especially when there are custom options available. My best friend has an unusual first name and I remember when we first knew each other it was near impossible to get anything with her name on off the shelf so it’s always a pleasure to get her something personalised, and the novelty never seems to wear off for her.

I was recently given the opportunity to create a custom necklace from Martha Jackson, a new to me website which sells a whole host of engraved gifts for him and for her. I knew straight away that I wanted to make something for my best friend and after careful consideration I picked out the vintage heart locket.

Necklace c/o Martha Jackson

As you can see from the photos the attention to detail on this locket is just stunning. The engraving sits neatly on the back of the locket and is some of the clearest jewellery engraving I’ve seen. When creating your jewellery there are several further customisation options available- from a choice of fonts through to the length of the chain and whether you want to add an additional charm, or gold or silver letter. You can also include a free gift message with your item.

The service from Martha Jackson was incredibly swift, they offer a standard delivery time of 2-4 days and my necklace arrived within 48 hours of placing the order. Standard delivery is free on all orders but there are express and nominated day options available for an additional cost as well as international shipping.

The locket came packaged in a neat, branded white box ready for gifting and was safe and securely packaged.

The vintage heart locket costs £37, although if you want a longer chain or additional charms/letters then this does increase. For the quality and craftsmanship involved in the item I think this represents really good value, and my best friend, who’s name by now you’ve probably gathered is Trudi is absolutely delighted with her new necklace.

I’ll definitely be returning to Martha Jackson in the run up to Christmas both for creating gifts for my nearest and dearest as well as compiling my own wish list. I’ve got my eye on a rather stunning spinning ring and shall be dropping some serious hints as the big day nears.
