cat lady- version "lost count"

Blouse: Monki at ASOS
Skirt: New Look
Shoes: Steve Madden via Sarenza
Monki at ASOS is my current obsession. Ever since the brand first landed there I’ve stalked the new arrivals, so far limiting my purchases to three (a dress, a jumper and this blouse) although I have my beady eye on these mittens, this dress and these oh so cheery tights
I originally wanted to pair the blouse with a leather look pencil skirt I’d purchased from New Look but re-trying it on a week later made me realise the skirt needed to be returned. I do not have the correct body proportions for pencil skirts and I MUST remember that! Instead I grabbed my trusty black skater skirt from my wardrobe, stuck on these snazzy studded flats and rushed out of the door to work- after getting outfit photos, of course! Kudos to Mae for her timing in seeking me out that morning.
Outfit posts really are few and far between at the moment. The combination of Autumn lighting issues, more time spent in uniform for work and generally just having very little time/motivation to put together outfits has seen  the blog veer more towards reviews and wish lists. I do want to get back in to outfit posting though, perhaps I need to rope the boy in to grabbing photos at the weekend.
Speaking of weekends, we’re nearly there again. I think we’re planning on a chilled one this time having spent last weekend with his family up North(ish). It was my first time meeting the full set of siblings as well as properly getting to know his parents and I’m pleased to report they are all wonderfully delightful.
I also survived a night out (such as it is) in Melton Mowbray and my first and probably not last Leicester City match.
Are there any brands you’re hooked on at the moment? I’m not sure whether to ask you to share or not. I don’t need encouragement!

Not a Brat

Tee: c/o Brat & Suzie at ASOS
Jeans: Oasis
Trainers: Converse
I’m a big fan of Brat & Suzie’s cute and creative designs so when I was offered one of their latest designs, available at ASOS now I was only too happy to accept.
I had grand notions of being able to style this up in some creative way, but in the end my brain (and lacking wardrobe) failed me and I opted for standard skinny jeans and hi-tops. I suppose for me, this is creative. From the girl who used to tremble at the mention of jeans and trousers this is still a small step out of my comfort zone.
I’m so behind on outfit photos so there will probably be a bit of an onslaught in the next week or so, alongside some other much overdue posts.
I’m still trying to get back in to a post-holiday routine and getting some ideas together of how to stop this blog being so damn mediocre.

daisy chain dreaming: The WhitePepper

£45

£50

£45

£66
Life seems to be a constant wish list lately and it’s not helped by brands such as The WhitePepper at ASOS bringing out such covetable collections. I can’t think of anything I dislike about their current range (except that I can’t afford it) and above is just a small selection of my favourites. If I was going to splash out it would have to be on the Sailor Midi Dress, I love all things nautical and midi is my favourite length.
Oh ASOS, you do bad things to me. I may need to stage an intervention against the amount of time I spend browsing there.
What brands are you currently craving? What online shop is your weakness?

velveteen

I have a bit of an obsession with all things velvet at the moment so when I saw this skirt on Missguided at a bargain price I couldn’t not order it. To be honest, for the price I wasn’t expecting greatness but this is one of hte nicest skirts I own, the fit and length is wonderful and it’s super comfy. I paired it up with one of my ASOS cat jumpers and called it an outfit for an afternoon at home.

This week is coming along nicely, my brother is home and we’re catching up, eating out and generally chilling. I’m starting to feel like socialising more and I have a couple of evenings out coming up including going to see Ellie’s pupils in their school production tonight…exciting.

I’m off work next week and hope to have some fun, crutches or not. Physio session later and maybe, just maybe I can ditch the wretched sticks. I’m itching to get active again, to walk and be independent. I’m almost tempted to say “sod it” and walk through the pain in my own special way!

Before all that though, a morning in the office beckons. I’ve said this before but I do love my workplace, it never feels like a chore to go in and do a shift or two; even when I moan or we have a really demanding day you leave ready for the next one…I’m so grateful to the surgery for the chance they took on me.

Catch you tomorrow loves, for FRIDAY FEVER!

September Survival Wishlist

With the arrival of September comes a craving for rich berry colours, mixed with deep greens and muddy browns. We may yet get a burst of Summer but I’m not holding out hope and today I have conjured up a wishlist of what I would love to help me survive September!

1. Dark Green skinny jeans, £16.99 from New Look. I’m really starting to embrace jeans and trousers more and these are the perfect Autumn colour (I think)

2. Bunny Print sweater top £12 from George at Asda. I already own the jersey owl jumper and this is next on my list. I love the quirky print, relaxed fit and supersoft material (lovingly stroked in store yesterday). These jumpers are such bargains.

3. Barbour from ASOS. LOVE the Liberty lining in this, do not love the price tag of over £200! I am trying hard to save up for a Barbour though. I love them and know that once afforded, it will be a sound investment. I shall probably hit up the outlet at Clark’s village for mine though, they have some relative bargains there.

4. Velvet Chelsea Boots from Matalan, currently only £10 online! I’m on a shoe ban, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want these! I was caught stroking them in store yesterday. Oh so soft and I LOVE the colour.

What’s on your September wishlist? Still holding out for Summer?
